Like I said in the recruiting thread, I probably won't be able to actively participate in this until about 2 weeks from now do to uni.

Hmm.  I'd better start off with Copycat, then.  She's a little more morally flexible than Aegis.

It occurs to me that the setup you're using could fit very well with the post-Civil War Marvel universe, if you're willing to do a little reading to catch up to speed.  After the Civil War, the registered heroes (under the leadership of Tony Stark) launched the "Fifty State Initiative."  Basically, they set up a superhero team in every state, all reporting to SHIELD.  It's a lot like what you're suggesting here.

Claws
« Reply #13 on: January 27, 2009, 02:28:58 PM »
I think there's a little confusion concerning claws.  I thought it'd be better to run down how they work here.

1. Claws do as much damage as their power rank OR your Strength--whichever is lower.
2. Claws can cut through materials of power rank strength or lower.
3. Weapons Specialist doesn't increase damage; it increases your chance to hit.  Your Fighting is two ranks higher when using your claws.

In the case of your character, Bowan, the claws would do Amazing damage and cut through Amazing-strength material.  Your fighting with your claws is Unearthly.

Welcome.  The truly aggravating thing for Cat's going to be that so few of your powers are ones she can easily duplicate--they're just THERE, like your body armor.  She needs to actually see the power used before she can try to absorb it. :)

How do you 'see' the body armor? Me taking a hit by a walking rug and schrugging it off?
Same thing goes for the claws.

You've basically seen them, or their effects, in this short 'sparring exercise' with the Bugs Bunny monster :)

The way I conceptualize residual absorption, it only works on powers you have to consciously USE, not powers that are just there.  So your body armor wouldn't leave behind residual traces--it's just there.  Likewise for regeneration.  Claws, I could probably duplicate, if they're natural, but 'Cat's VERY cautious about duplicating body-change powers.  That's how she wound up with fur and a tail in the first place!

John's Claws are natural, just artificially enhanced to a certain level...
