You only take the damage once a minute. You hardly need to heal damage every round.

Oh... I misread the once per minute as once per round.   :embarrassed

My solution is a little overkillish, maybe.

Hey, I'm not complaining about healing every round.

How could I forget Dragonborn from Races of the Dragon?

This only works if you go along with the Sage's advice that a creature doesn't actually need to be a Humanoid to become Dragonborn, but a Telthor could use this to lose their Bound to the Land supernatural ability. This may also remove the Telthor's attacks, meaning that they would need to invest in ghost touch or otherwise magical weaponry, or use spells as an attack mechanism.

I've updated my miniguide to reflect this, and also added to the attacks section, hopefully clarifying it a bit.

I thought Dragonborn just got rid of racial abilities. Would abilities gained from a template be lost as well?

I believe that once the first template is applied, the abilities gained from it are considered racial abilities. It bears some thought though; I'll keep my eyes open for info that confirms or denies this.

I don't think so. It doesn't change your type (Fey) or subtype (Incorporeal). It just strips you of most racial abilities, and add the dragon subtype.

So Dragonborn Incarnate Construct Telthor Warforged?

I'd considered something like this (with Warforged -> IncarnateC -> Gravetouched Ghoul), and came to the conclusion that it depends on how the Incarnate Construct negative LA works.

Option 1: Incarnate Construct changes your LA to -2, which is treated as 0 because that's the minimum given in the Incarnate Construct template. When you become a Telthor, your LA is increased to +0.

If option 1 is the case, then a Dragonborn Incarnate Construct Telthor Warforged would work just fine, and be a great +0 LA race option. (As long as the templates are applied in the right order, naturally.)

Option 2: Incarnate Construct lowers your LA (previously +0) by 2. You stay at +0 LA because that's the minimum given in the Incarnate Construct template. When you become a Telthor, your LA is increased to +2.

If option 2 is true, you can't bypass Telthor's level adjustment, since you can't apply Incarnate Construct after Telthor (unless Dustform is used, but that has its own LA +2, so you'd still be at a net LA +2).

As negative level adjustment does not appear anywhere else in the rules, and there aren't any official answers in the FAQ, Ask Wizards, or whatnot, it seems unlikely that I'll determine how it works. (If you've figured it out and can enlighten me, go right ahead.) I may add this Fey (Living Construct, Dragonblood, Augmented Construct, Augmented Humanoid) to the handy section I have in the big post about questionable rules.

I used to just combine telthor with LA buyoff and draconic aura (vigor) to always stay at 1/2 hp.

As many people love to ignore, it's a level 9 Clr/Wiz/Src spell with a 5k XP cost, excluding the heart of a humanoid spell component, so it's not such a low-level option.

Damn, I'd forgotten how expensive it was. There are ways of bypassing the components, of course, but you'd need to find a much more specific high level caster then.

So, anyway, about the Ghost Savage Progression.  Since you specifically are allowed to not take all the levels in one fell swoop, you can enjoy the benefits of LA+1 to LA+3 incorporealilty.

hmm ...
I wonder if LA buy-off can be done, if you haven't taken the whole templated class, just yet ??
If you only have the LA of +1, but you are an eventually LA of +3 race, maybe the buy-off point is still 9hd + the LA.
It'd still be worth it to do it.
You'd be down 1 level for the race class, and one LA, which you'd get back, making this a 1 level incorporeal class.
Personally, I don't like Turning Resistance being so low.

In Savage Species, it introduces Possession special ability for 4hd Outsiders with Cha 13.
What's stopping a 4th level character (that obviously has 4hd) , with Cha 13, and the Outsider feat (otherworldly), from doing that ??
It's a little hinky. I think it works.
