So, there's plenty of handbooks for official classes, but has anyone ever made one for a homebrew class? ;)

There's a few in the Arena which might be good material.

The tier system in a nutshell:
[spoiler]Tier 6: A cartographer.
Tier 5: An expert cartographer or a decent marksman.
Tier 4: An expert marksman.
Tier 3: An expert marksman, cartographer and chef who can tie strong knots and is trained in hostage negotiation or a marksman so good he can shoot down every bullet fired by a minigun while armed with a rusted single-shot pistol that veers to the left.
Tier 2: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything, or the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.

Im working on one for my homebrew Cat Burglar now.  Assuming I ever finish tweaking the class and the 2 dozen PrC's I've made to go with it.  :witsend


One of these days I gotta learn to stop doing huge projects on a whim...

Because there are some well thought out, interesting homebrewed classes that could use some optimization. It's only fair.

I think that might actually be LESS optimal, as you spend a feat for extended abjurations, and are not as epic ready.... since you havn't maxed out a class   :D

holy, hell, wonder what the epic progression on that beastie would be....  three epic feats/level, if made by the same guy.  after all, you gotta "sacrifice power for flavor"  :lmao


EDIT: The abjurant champion level also has half the hit dice size...  :lmao
2nd edit:  and worse fort+ref saves.... and one less bonus feat...

What about Lightning Warrior / Spelldancer 5? Then Spelldancer is maxed out and could possibly get an epic progression. Free metamagic improves everything.

Also I made a guide

it's not a for a homebrew class though

it's also pretty short

don't know about spelldancer as a class, but as a rule, i remember reading somewhere that a PrC needs at least 10 levels to be considered to have an epic progression....

according to WoTC, lower level ones don't represent as much of what you char is, or something like that.


as for [obtain familiar] not making up the gap, you don't exactly need abjurant champion to take that feat... =P

What about handbooks for the DragonMag PrCs / Baseclasses?  I did some analysis for the Sha-Ir over on 339, but I've never actually played one.

WTB Commoner 20 guide.
WTB A guide for wielding a pole with a melee (not cleric) gnome tied to each end.

In seriousness though, a charger or artificer guide could be useful. Maybe a swiftblade or shadowcraft mage handbook could be copied over.

Also the Lightning Warrior needs a buff. I am thinking add Wildshape and related feats, Wish as a SLA usable 5/day, and Prestidigitation at will.

I know you want it to be a strong class, but sometimes you just have to sacrifice power for flavor.
