Need help to optimize Cloistered Cleric/Archivist

Cloistered Cleric 1 (Knowledge Devotion; Undeath Domain, Planning Domain)/Archivist 11/PrC8.

They're divine spells, so you can use DMM persist on archivist spells.

Ditch the Cleric level, you don't need it.  Archivist X/Sacred Exorcist 1/Other Divine PrCs Y.  No sense loosing caster levels.

And yes, DMM works just great.  Persistant Swift Haste!

Unless, you know, you want to play a non-good caster.

Also, the title asks for a combo of both. But in general, yes SE is better than losing CL.

It seemed to me that what the OP really wanted was a DMM Archivist, and just didn't know that you could do it without using Cleric.  Hence my advice.

I mean, you could go nuts with Cloistered Cleric 1/Dread Necromancer 1/Archivist 18, gaining Turn Undead and Rebuke Undead (and thus doubling your turn attempts to power DMM...whee!).

Cloistered Cleric 1/Archivist would be good for gaining devotion feats (like knowledge devotion...).

Dread Necromancer 1/CC 1/Archivist 12/Contemplative 6 for a total of five domains and 6 + 2xCha + 2xExtras would be win.

Both Cloistered Cleric and Sacred Exorcist have their strengths. CC leaves you a caster level off, but gives you a lot of feats (devotion exchange, as afterCrescent pointed out). It also gets you turning attempts earlier than SE, which is worth thinking about. That lets you take some of the other divine feats earlier, which might be nice too.

Personally, I'd go with Cloistered Cleric, mainly because archivists have a hefty feat load, espcecially if you want to DMM.

Is there a source for getting the 2xExtras if you have both turning and rebuking?  So that, as that if you took Extra Turning (or had a Nightstick) and had both turning and rebuking like the quoted build does you would net 8 uses rather than 4?

Yeah. Extra Turning applies to both turning and rebuking. Extra Turning would give you +4 turns and +4 rebukes, netting you eight.

I just re-read the feat for the first time in forever and wow, that is totally correct.  Nice!

I wonder, would items like the Nightstick or Reliquary Holy Symbol work the same way?  It'd be a trick to get the Reliquary to work that way b/c of the alignment restrictions, but still doable.

Depends on the wording of the item. Some might specify only turning. But if it says both, it will work with both.

Nightsticks work, find out if they stack or not.

I think the answer to that question we shall never know, even if they don't stack you just use one for persist drop it use another for a persist drop it and so on and so forth.
