If you want your undead to be as beefy as possible you should take Corpsecrafter. There is another way of getting +2HP/level apart from Desecrate with shrine, but I don't remember it, so technically the max HP/HD you could get are D12+8.

I find the bigger your undead the better Corpsecrafter gets, so it's not a low-level feat. +40HP on a 20HD critter are quite important, IMHO.

What I meant was that up to level 7, you also make use of the +str and dex, but yes. It's mostly a matter of taste, if you're focusing on undead, or the other spells.
We sit together, the mountain and I, until only the mountain remains.

Well, IMHO the point about a DN is really controlling undead (and possibly co-tanking with them, if you are so inclined). If I want to focus only on necromancy spells I'll make a Focused Specialist Necromancer, or a Specialist/Incantatar. Or a neutral Cleric (which is probably the strongest choice).

But speaking of Necromancers, is anyone going to port the DN and/or Necromancer handbooks from crapmax?
