I argee about Day being weak,but I thought land of the dead was okay,i dislike the remake of Dawn. I have however decided to skip the others due to mainkly not really being drawn by the storyline of the newer stuff.

Scott Pilgrim wasn't bad. A little uneven in the third act but all movies are.

Ponyo was a really good movie. Had to be a Miyazaki film.

Why, the adorable cuteness of the character design, of course.

(And Fujimoto's nose.)

We... only got the portuguese dubbed version, though. With the guy who usually voices Goku as Sousuke's father. Fucker is in EVERYTHING, and always sound the EXACT SAME. ZERO flexibility as a voice actor. I keep wondering how the hell he's not out of a job.

Because the dub was done by Alamo, which always picks the same fucking actors for everything. If only they picked Guilherme Briggs' company (the name escapes me at the moment), we could see a REAL actor at work. I'm guessing they couldn't afford it because the whole thing was distributed by Playarte, which... isn't exactly big as far as publishers go.

yeah it came out on the wrong weekend...going up agisnt The Expendables..

but it will become a cult classic on DVD i'm sure of it...

Saw The Other Guys. Seems like the type of movie that needed the last pass with the editor or that had the desired rating change at the last moment - I got the impression they added in a bunch of sex stuff at the very end to make it Pg-13 instead of PG, mostly because the scenes weren't connected well and, most damningly, weren't funny.

My recommendation: wait until the TV edit comes on, since the first stuff they'll cut needed to go.

just checked-out Hot Tub Time Machine on video -- not a bad flick; some parts still have me laughing 3 days later. I give it 3.5/5

teenage mutant ninja turtles : forever.

two thumbs up.

combines some aspects of all previous turtle media.

might be the best turtle movie of the collection.
