No, they pull a turtle out of the river, behead it, cut off its still twitching limbs, and pry open the shell.

so its dead, and they dismember it.

im not condoning the needless killing of animals. and nearly every species of turtle is endangered....

but, i cant call dismembering a dead animal cruelty.. did they slowly cut off its head? use a butter knife? tease it alot first?

This was for entertainment purposes, they also slammed a hatchet into its shell while it was still alive. There is also the pig that gets kicked three times before getting shot. The two monkey's who were scalped. The muskrat that had its throat slit. The snake and spider that both were chopped in half, and finally the thousands of mosquitoes swatted

You should see what they do to the humans (fortunately, that part is acting.)

I saw I Love You, Man a couple of nights ago, and I really like it.  The plot follows the usual Judd Apatow story arc (dopey but good-hearted guy does some dumb things for an hour in pursuit of some idea, learns a lesson and everyone is happy) but Paul Rudd and Jason Siegel were absolutely hilarious.
Still came that eldritch, mocking cry - "Tekeli-li! Tekeli-li!" and at last we remembered that the demoniac Shoggoths...had no voice save the imitated accents of their bygone masters.

Well, most diehard horror fans aren't in their right minds then as it's a cult classic.  I enjoy the film for the realism, but could do without the animal deaths.  The director has admitted to being wrong for including the animal stuff, but at least the turtle was eaten so it's death wasn't a complete waste.  Considering you didn't like it, I highly recommend staying away from Cannibal Ferox(aka Make Them Die Slowly), Last Cannibal World(aka Jungle Holocaust), Mountain of the Cannibal God, and basically any other Italian cannibal films as they're all basically the same.

Dragon Hunter

Dragons are a constant threat and only one man can stop them...the Dragon Hunter.  Cheesy, but that's basically the plot.  The characters were well done, if not cliched, the acting wasn't too over the top, and the dragons(or more acurately, dragon since only one is seen up close) actually looked decent.  The only major problem I had was the horrendous shaky-cam during the fight scenes.  It was so bad I couldn't tell what the hell was going on half the time.  Despite it's flaws, it still held up as a fun film and is definitely worth a watch.

Dragonquest

This has nothing to do with the game or book with the same name.  An evil sorcerer is using a dragon to gain control of the kingdom and only one man can stop him.  Overused premise, but it works.  Marc Singer still kicks ass even at 61 as the old warrior Maxim who teaches the guy who's supposed to stop the bad guy.  The whole quest to reach the bad guy involves lots of moral lessons for the would-be hero which gets kinda repetitive, but overall it's an enjoyable film.  The fights are much better than Dragon Hunter, as is the acting, but I think I prefer it over this film.  Still, it's worth a watch.

Enh, it's a common reaction to the film really.  Despite what I said, there's plenty of horror fans who hate the film and it's rare to find non-genre fans that like it(at least once they find out about the animal cruelty that is).

Saw Watchmen, was that good.

It did get over-hyped, but it was a really great film.  Though I guess I was going into it kinda skeptical because of the director, who has made by far THE most over-hyped movie that turned out to be a suck fest.

Which movie was that?  I enjoyed his remake of Dawn of the Dead, and enjoyed the living hell out of 300.  Yes it was cheesy.  Yes it had nothing to do with historical Spartan fighting techniques (my wife's major fault with the movie), but it was inspirational.  I wanted to go out and whack some Persians.

300 was a terrible, terrible movie.  It's not campy, it's not ironic, it's just bad.  For the record, it's a guy flick.  Those are, by default, bad movies, since they are not made for any artistic motive, rather for monetary motives.  This is why all guy and chick flicks are bad.  They may be entertaining, but so is my navel.  And I watched it 3 times to be sure.

I cannot speak for Dawn of the Dead, since horror is not a genre I watch usually.  It takes some real genius film making to make a good horror film, especially now that "horror" is basically torture porn (see the SAW series).

There are non torture porn horror films that are pretty decent, but they dont get much publicity (or theater exposure).

Dawn of the Dead is a classic non-torture-porn horror movie.  Snyder treated the original material well.  The plot is similar to the first movie, but not identical (it's not two reporters and two SWAT guys in the mall, it's a collection of nearby people, for instance).  It has zombies, and a shopping mall.  It has a gun shop owner head-shooting a zombie Rosie O'Donnell from a hundred yards away.  What else do you need?
