Reserved for me.

Okay peeps, adding stuff so that I can remember it and ubernoob can check my ideas from here in case I am not online when he comes back.

Items of note:
• Belt of magnificence+6/Belt of battle
 • Skin of proteus
 • Heartseeking amulet with 4-6 charges a day
 • Torc of power preservation
 • +5 resistance bonus to saves with some item. Combined with the Torc?
 • Discipline weapon
Going to continue the list later.

Unless I'm missing something how are you qualifying for warmind? You need a power point reserve so you'd either need to take the wild talent feat, swap the fighter levels for psi warrior levels (best option imo), or play a race that gives you a power point reserve.

Deft Opportunist, Practiced Manifester (Warmind), Link Power (+Psionic Meditation)...

edit: Kalashtar have a PP reserve (the best of the game, in fact).

He's Kalashtar, it's a psionic race.

Helps with the small amount of PP too. I think with wisdom 20 we should have 110 PP. With Torc of power preservation augmented Expansion takes 6 and Hustle uses 2.

I think our power selection is Expansion, Empty mind, Hustle, Dimension slide and Strength of my enemy.

 • Not cool enough for a custom title.

Could you please change the title? I thought you'd gone completely insane, and were optimising 3.0 psionics.

Also, how good is Pierce Magical Protection? It's a standard action to use, so we give up a pretty sweet full attack and/or a strike for that dispel. Or is it a "filler" feat?
I know gameology-fu.

It is almost useless if the DM uses mostly monsters or average NPCs. It is mandatory if the DM uses optimized NPCs with class levels (say, DMM Clerics or Incantatrixes or gishes).

Oh, they're fillers. If I have to try and defend PM anyway:
depending on the interpretation, PM can give you more PPs. But it's very much about numbers too (powers that can be augmented more). Its interest also depends on the powers you choose.

I'd mention Precise Swing (ECS), the feat from Dragon that counters swift spells, etc... Check out the original thread again. I think it's fine to leave a blank slot if there's no perfect fit.

We don't want to use anything that relies too much on DM interpretation the way Practiced manifester does. Hitting stuff shouldn't be a problem with this build either.

Just to reiterate for the audience: you already rely on the DM for Mage Slayer (as mentioned in the OP) and the Flurry of Blows <-> Decisive Strike equivalence (totally reasonable).

Occult Opportunist is the name of the Dragon feat.
Other possibilities: Close-Quarters Fighting (vs grapplers), Hold the Line (vs chargers). Yes, they're situational but worth mentioning.

Oh, and for remembrance's sake:

On a note unrelated to casters, can anyone here think of any monk weapons that have reach?  If so I'm thinking that starting as a monk could actually be better for the original lockdown if they use the decisive strike alternative from PHB II.

The fighter version of the build is really most effective after level 16 because of the double damage on AoOs making the Stand Still DC so high.  If a monk could get a reach weapon (or make his extend his reach with unarmed strikes by a fair bit) he could make the build come into its own a lot sooner.  Maybe a monk1/psychic warrior X? Dunno since I've never played psychic warriors before, but it's an idea.

@gabrion : I tried doing it some pages back, but I spent only 15min on it and the resulting BAB was poor ; Warmind may be a better idea (it's especially great with Tashalatora, but that's setting-specific).
I thought I had mentioned Decisive Strike first, but in fact it was Radical Taoist - damn his genius !

We are not relying on anything with the Mage slayer feat, it doesn't mentioning anything about it lowering manifester level, so as per RAW, we are right here.

Oddly enough, I think you're spot on. Looking at the magic-psionic transparency it only refers to spells/powers not CL/ML or the knowledges that are so often houseruled. :D

So me being correct is such a rare case that you have to refer to such instances as 'odd'? Neat.

Yes. :P

Just kidding. It's odd that in this instance, you are correct, since I think so many people take the transparency rule to affect everything, not just spells/powers.
