Q 640: What would happen if a dragon (for example) with poor maneuverability were to fly into a patch of solid fog? Would he begin falling, as he is not maintaining the minimum forward speed for flight?
The spell states that creatures falling through the fog are slowed such that each 10 ft of fog they fall through reduces the falling damage by 1d6 (and thus, essentially, reduces the distance fallen by 10 feet.) A falling creature falls 150 ft on the first round of falling; so does the solid fog actually pause their fall for several rounds as they fall through it at a speed of 5 ft per round? Or do they simply fall through its 20 ft height at normal "speed," but simply take less damage?
