best SPELLS to use with Wilder's Wild Surge, early levels ??
« on: September 25, 2011, 05:20:17 PM »
Basically if you ignore getting arcane or divine over to the psi side,
this is a mostly early game tactic for 1st and maybe 2nd level spells.

Wild Surge +1 would work with any spell that has an effect with CL = Level .
That's good at level 1 or level 2, and would work at a near Spellpoint type approach.

Wild Surge +2 works with any spell that has a CL = Level / 2 effect.
That could come in at level 3 with 1st level spells.
But they'd have to be the rare really good for this approach spell.
Spells that work on the WS+1 are made more efficient with WS+2.

(obviously Alter Self is gold, as is using Metamorphic Transfer with it)

So ... what spells sound like this would work ?
And/or would be worth the effort to bring them over to Psi ?

side note, but apparently wild surge works on any power you know, not just those from your wilder list. so if you multiclass into psywar, you can surge all your psywar powers known too. and with power stones working as if you manifested it (unlike scrolls), and the ability to manifest another's powers, you don't even have to take that many levels of psywar either.

add a level of erudite, lurk, and ardent for even more craziness.

Oh yeah sreservoir , recharge is fun!

While this wasn't where I was going, it is good.
Wilder 2 can have Magic Mantle mga. Divine Mind 1,
Mantled PsyWar 2, Ardent 1 and Mantled Erudite 1, but not Lurk.
Whichever Psion 5 can get the Life Mantle (acf feeling lazy) can do it soon after tho' pricey.
Very interesting.

I was thinking more about Spells in general, "tossed" over to the Wilder.
Like this list, in case a Wilder could use one (or two) better.

erudite is obviously the easiest way to convert spells to psi, however, there is an hidden effect with that. each erudite has the base psion/wilder/discipline list as a class list. the spell to power adds unique powers known that does not appear on any class list but that individual erudite. this might mean taking enough erudite levels to gain access to spell levels you want. alternatively, suck it up on the action economy side burning actions to manifest powers from another erudite's repertoire so that you can surge them.

my basic idea was to use powerstones and only have one level of each class so that the powers are "on your list". however, that doesn't apply with spells converted to psi via erudite spell-to-power, as they are automatically not on your list... unless you learned them as an erudite or did some chirurgery.
