Multivoice
« on: September 01, 2011, 07:23:33 PM »
I was going through Savage Species, and I came upon the Multivoice feat.

http://dnd.savannahsoft.eu/feat-2012-multivoice.html

The LA adjustment for one additional head is +2, so I'm trying to think of a good build to get to this feat without losing too many caster levels.  Most likely would need to be an INT-based caster due to the 15 INT requirement.  Maybe take ranger levels for the two-weapon fighting requirements?

Would it be worth it or would it just be more optimal to make use of ways to reduce the costs of quicken spell?

For a Two-Headed, Cheesewrought, Loredrake, Kobold Sorcerer with the Web Enhancements that give Kobolds a Claw/Claw/Bite routine, this is totally worth it.

...just noticed. Does that feat require you to take a full-round action to cast your second spell in addition to the action required to cast the first?

Apart from that, Vestigial Twin can give you a second head, and also gives you an extra mental standard action per turn. Though you'd normally need to be a psion to use that for triple-casting.

Gloves of the Balanced Hand upgrade your TWF feats by one step.

My work
The tier system in a nutshell:
Tier 6: A cartographer.
Tier 5: An expert cartographer or a decent marksman.
Tier 4: An expert marksman.
Tier 3: An expert marksman, cartographer and chef who can tie strong knots and is trained in hostage negotiation or a marksman so good he can shoot down every bullet fired by a minigun while armed with a rusted single-shot pistol that veers to the left.
Tier 2: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything, or the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
Tier 1: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything and the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
Getting the Two-Headed or more, requires an extra 2hd per head.
The basic 2Headed is 2 racial hd + the 2 LA ...  kinda sucks, possibly useful.
Assuming la buy-off is in the cards, it's just a 2 "level" hit.

edit ... hmm ... how about going Persisted Polymorph and Hydra something?
Multivoice wouldn't work after a dispel, but reload-able.

Shoot, I missed the additional HD.  If you went druid you could take the Frozen Wild Shape feat and then shapechange into a Cryohydra.  Technically you don't have multiple heads all the time, but I think it would often enough that a DM would allow it.

Unless the DM wishes to invoke rule 0, you don't need DM permission to take a feat for something you only have some of the time (per Complete Warrior iirc). You just need to take the feat while you qualify. When you stop qualifying you lose the benefits of the feat (but not the feat itself) and when you start qualifying again, you regain the benefits.
