Hmm. So... how terrible of an idea do you think this truenamer/factotum is?

The Factotum levels can save your hide, and once you get enough of the second two Lexicons you should be decent, but you'd be far better off without Truenamer levels at all (especially considering the Factotum's ability to pump your checks can only be used on Truespeak once/day).

Truenamer works rather well, if you get a ridiculous check, which you can. That said, I'm not sure Factotum is the way to go with it - at least not Factotum 20.

Consider using Factotum 8 and then either Ur-Priest, Sublime Chord or something like that to get good casting.

Truenamer 20//Factotum 11/Chameleon 9, not necessarily in that order? :p

Factotum 11 is nearly required for any gestalt caster build entering epic, fo sho.

Unless you boost your CL to utterly ludicrous levels.

I hear item familiars for investing skill ranks is all the jazz with truenaming ;)
Monks are pretty much the best designed class ever.

Are you counting truenamer as a caster?

More like a castaway.

Though the fixes could do.

It looks like I'll be going with factotum 11, illumian and the trick with making Truespeak into a Dex skill, so also at least 1 level of psion.

I'm supposed to avoid actual casting classes with this character... any suggestions on other classes I could go with?

Yes. I presented the first two to the DM, as the choice is his. He says he'll get back to me when he makes a decision. Until then, I'm going to keep working under the assumption that he won't institute a completely new system just for me, and that I'll have to find a way to make the existing system work.
