It was sarcastic, in that druids are one of the very best classes, and warmages are among the worst casters.

oh, i totally missed your sarcasm, but yeah i see now that druids are very solid compared to warmages. i also learned the dangers of multiclassing if i was interested in maximizing the druid's spellcasting ability, especially if other classes dont augment my spell levels.

Yeah, there is no reason to multiclass with a core druid at all. The only exception might be if you're starting out in a very low level game. Then adding a level of monk (at 1st or 2nd) might be a decent idea. Any multiclassing will only make you weaker.
