Q310: I need a light armor with a Maximum Dex Bonus of +12 or better, feel free to optimize even AC and ACP, but not needed :P
Random Metaquestion: Is there a irc/jabber/whatever channel for this board? or does anyone know of some nice irc channels or similar for 3.5 optimization?

His old DM was on crack. He could take levels in freaking Dread Necromancer if he wanted to and no rule in the universe would keep him from doing so.
Rule 0?
Which, I guess, would be 'no rule,' since none = 0.
What's funny is he always brings up Rule 0. I actually had to ask him what that was, and without blinking an eye he gave me the most detailed explanation I'd ever heard for a rule. It was like he was in a trance when he spoke. Looking it up, it just said "The unspoken DM gets final say/veto anything he wants rule."

Depends on how much of a bonus you want. It's quite easy to make a Thistledown Padded armor to +12. Just add Nimbleness (+1 bonus from MIC) and Segmented (+200 gold, Dragon Mag 358).
I reject your reality, and substitute my own.

At the moment +12 will suffice, but ther'es something to do without the DMagazine?

Hmm. How about the wizards site? Would that work? http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/alumni/20060414a
It's also Dungeon 105 p71. You gain +1 to your Dex bonus, and reduce the check penalty by 2 (min or 1), but your AC bonus is reduced by half (rounded down to a min of 1), and your speed is not impacted.

Ok, it was just a citation for the dragon magazine... I guess I'll try to use stuff from DM and see if it's ok

There is also armor with no max dex, some sort of gnome cape in races of stone. AFB for the moment though.

That's a shield though. Same as the duelist's cape, which gives you a disarming bonus.

Question: Does a Swordsage who uses his Dual Boost ability to activate Raging Mongoose AND Dancing Mongoose get additional attacks from both maneuvers or just the higher value?

Optimizing is the antithesis of roleplaying because it takes focus away from the important parts of the game.
I'm inclined to disagree. People work hard on there characters, there personality, back ground, appearance, so forth. No one wants there character that they have invested time, energy, thought, and probably emotion in to be killed because they didn't take strong enough feats or skills or spells or what have you.

Q 312: When a specialist or focused-specialist wizard enters a prestige class, which progresses spells known/spells per day, do you get the progression of a normal wizard or those of the specialised variant?

Specialised. Master Specialist requires being Specialist Wizard and Red Wizard encourages it. It would be stupid if they would require it and then not progress it.

New topic.

I believe that's what I just said. Or are you interpreting it as a single damage reduction value for adamantine armor, rather than two distinct components (the adamantine's effect and the armor as DR effect), the total of which counts as a singular source from armor to stack with the Barbarian DR? I interpret each component as its own, distinct effect (as you can see in my post you quoted).
I'm interpreting it as him getting getting DR 9/- in total because they're all DR/-, and that it should therefore stack. So I guess I'm interpreting it as a single damage reduction.
Kevin's is probably the more reasonable interpretation. Otherwise, adamantine armor of nearly any type would always be overwitten by the base armor's own DR.

The way I see it: DR from armor stacks with any other form of damage reduction(due to the quoted specific rule), but the other forms of damage reduction don't stack with each other (due to the general rule)
So in this case, the DR from armor would stack with both the DR from class levels, and the DR from adamantine, but the latter two would overlap and not stack.
The final value of DR would be armor DR+the highest between adamantine DR and class level DR.

Sorry bump the old thread, but there's an armor too. Gnome Twist Cloth is an exotic light armor with no maximum dex and 0 ACP. Only +1 AC, but if you're proficient with it then it adds to your touch AC as well.
