Elemental Savant and Golem
« on: April 04, 2011, 09:31:35 AM »
Quote

If a wizard becomes an elemental savant at 10th level, can the wizard bind this spirit as elemental of earth to artificial body ?

The golem will be a cadaver golem.

Thanks for the future answer.

No.  First, you don't become native to the Plane of Earth as a 10th-level Elemental Savant.  You don't even gain the appropriate elemental subtype, it's only your Type that changes.  Second, there is no indication that a spirit from the elemental plane of earth is at all in control of what the golem does.

If you want to stick your mind in a golem's body, check out the Mind Switch psionic power.

I don't want to butt in on your thread, but where's a good place to look up useful constructs?  I have a character who I'm thinking about taking Craft Construct for Dedicated Wright, but I don't want to do that if there aren't other useful things to craft with that feat.  I looked in the stickies, but there's nothing on constructs.  As a related question, my character also has craft magic arms and armor... could he enchant a golem(or other construct) with weapon enhancements?

Not crunch legit as X-codes said.

From a fluff text and flavor standpoint
it's entirely reasonable
to say the "spirit" bound to the Golem
has a background of blah blah blah.

Consider Frankenstein as not an Earth spirit,
but rather a Lightning spirit; and why not.
(because scientifically it wouldn't yada yada)

Yep, you can totally bind your enemies into golems if they count as earth elementals.  They are trapped in a formless hell where they are constantly tortured as their very essence is stripped away to power a construct.

No, you probably don't want this to happen to you.

But Frankenstein was human...
I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle.  The book doesn't even exist!

If using Genesis to hide your phylactry, set it at -300 degrees farenheit.  See how do-gooders fare with a liquid atmosphere.

Technically a human made out of humans. It's pretty much exactly what a flesh construct is supposed to be.

Yeah yeah, I know about the book ...  :rollseyes

The flesh Frankenstein is made out of, is dead.
And the combined flesh golem-esque body, is still not animated.
Sooo ... I'm thinking about the (one of many) stereotype TV commercial.

No the point x-codes is trying to make is that Frankenstein is the creator, the monster is actually called Frankenstein's Monster.
