Requesting help in rating a BUNCH of low level stuff
« on: February 14, 2011, 01:08:41 AM »
I've uploaded an excel sheet to google docs.
I am planning on making a handbook of low level optimization / Bunko's basement bargain bin / Utility belt / Complete McGyver thingy
It'll include what animal to buy, how to get more for your level 1, 2, and 3 dollar, how to optimize your craft(Alchemy) skill, cheap healing, Versatility for cheap.
I'll have a section describing the 4 and 5 star items between 0-10gp and how become uber versatile with those things, and the same for 11-100, 101-1,000, and finally just a section on 1,001-10,000, only it'll have stuff you've seen and probably have never seen.
I've rated these items but I'd like you to go through them and whatever you feel has a poor rating (I rated it too optimistically / pessimistically) then feel free to change it.
If you want to insert your own list and we can all have a central list to look for things.
I've allocated 5 columns for categories, and would like some feedback as to how well these categories capture the ways you would like to filter these items
I have been biased when rating these items having an artificer in mind, and low level optimization on the brain, so I apologize for that.
Please change any of the comments as you please.  Add in more detail, take out irrelevant stuff.  What would you like to see for quick reference when picking items.  I would like to have a mule's carrying capacity.
I am learning how to use google doc's filtering capabilities so you can choose 1 category and see only results that have that tag.

If you feel your comments or rating was unfairly overwritten please edit the comment(right click) on the appropriate cell and leave comments there.  If there are comments either in the cell comments, or in the comments column read and be respectfull.  Give multiple ratings based on if you're an artificer or fighter if you so wish.

Da-bump
Just tell me if I'm missing an item you usually put on your characters.  Anything, I'm lonely.

Very Nice.
The listings are huge.
Usually it's a Carnivore build , that has nearly so detailed a list of items.

Technically this should be at the Handbook board.
It's not a problem ... perhaps Meg will psychoport it over  ;).

I had forgotten about the Crafty Adepts thread.
Of course it's quite old, so this board, and the previous CO, had/has found a thing or two.
Eberron Adept has 1 domain on it's list.
And Adepts always could take he various off list expanders.
Handbooks has a thread on expanding your spell list,
opening up almost everything else.

EDIT --- oh , and clearly an Aristocrat with the Mercantile feat, wants this all to himself.
Or an apprentice 3.0e Aristocrat / OA Samurai, to sell his sword (soul) for more too early loot.

There is: Kill shit and loot the corpse!
When you use a tool the way it was designed for -- its intended function -- then it will work very well for you.

But it's not the tool's fault if you use it for something else and you fail utterly, such as trying to eat cereal with a butterknife, pounding nails with a screwdriver, blogging to voice your political opinions, and brushing your teeth with a hammer.

If you have any other modifications please feel free to join in and just change it.  I want this list to outlive my addiction to DnD, thus future users can update it.

Could you help me making sure all poisons mentioned in the The Poison Handbook are reflected in the poison tab.
I'm hoping this doesn't become so complete as to incite the spooky wizard near the coast to come over and get angry.
