How to give a RotD kobold the [human] subtype...
« on: December 30, 2010, 02:20:46 PM »
...at or around level 1?

This is a requirement for Tiny von BigMcLargeHuge, and I was wanting a relatively easy way to get it.

I know I could start as a wizard, sell my spellbook, buy a scroll of polymorph and a manifestation of some short manifestation-time power Linked to a psychic reformation to start off as a half-elf, take the Human-Blooded feat with the psyref, and then retrain my wizard level, but this is a lot of hoops for nothing but a simple subtype.

There's DM fiat, but this can't be counted on.

Any other ways that anyone can think of to get a kobold with the [human] subtype fully within RAW?

I don't think the half-elf thing even works, since you no longer qualify once the polymorph expires.

There's that alternate form half-dragon feat for dragons which might be able to turn you into a half-dragon human.

Sorry it's Human Heritage.

The feat is self-qualifying, once you have it.

Prerequisite: Half-human race or human-descended race

The feat gives you a strong human heritage, so you have a human heritage to qualify for Human Heritage. :P

Having the human subtype doesn't qualify you as being a half-human race or a human-descended race.

If you have the [human] subtype then obviously there's human in there somewhere, since you qualify as human.

Oh well. Like I said, I want other viable ways of doing this.

Eh, you could have had the feat and been reincarnated or something.

So what is that draconic feat you were talking about?

Dragons of Eberron.  Alternate form gives humanoid and animal forms, Half-dragon form adds half-dragon humanoids to the mix.  You keep your special qualities with alternate form, which means you keep your kobold size shit when you're being a half dragon human.

But you need alternate form, which, say, a psywar kobold does not get.

Though I could play the Pun Pun card and give it to myself, though I'd have to keep it there to make it at all playable...

...but then I could just give myself the [human] subtype.

Nice to see my Human Heritage trick...

Are you allowed flaws? Then you could just grab Dragonwrought, because Alternate Form just requires you to be True Dragon (please, not with the arguments. i've heard enough of the kvetching about how kobolds these days, always with the pun pun. always with the true dragon. always with the caster level. oy vey.)

Sorry about the minisizing, I felt like it.

Bard: "I can get three idiots to kill guys for me."

On a strange note, would anyone be put out if we had a post about people or events we can spare a thought for, or if its within their creed, a prayer for? Just a random thought, but ... hells I wouldn't have known about either Archangels daughter or Saeomons niece if I didn't happen to be on these threads.
Sounds fine to me.
probably over on "Off-topic".
might want to put a little disclaimer in the first post.

This is the Min/Max board. We should be able to figure out a way to optimize the POWER OF PRAYER(TM) that doesn't involve "Pazuzu, Pazuzu, Pazuzu".
