There's also the Heighten Spell/Earth Spell route, which I believe takes an extra feat (Earth Sense), but clearly and absolutely works, no questions asked.

I like Ultimate Magus for a blaster build.

Warmage 1/ Wizard 4 /Ultimate Magus 10 / Ardent Savant 5  is one of my favorites for blasting.  it lets you help out with the wizard side doing buffing or battlefield control and the war weaver gives you options to blast with.

Also i like Warmage and its cousins because you know more spells than a typical sorcerer that way.

I like Ultimate Magus but I prefer sorcerer to warmage because of the uncapped damage from wings of flurry and being able to get sorcerer-only spells like wings of cover. There's nothing on the warmage list you can't cast as a wizard and you really don't need that many spells known since most of the warmage's spells are doing the same thing anyways.
