Oh, certainly at least some are. If there were none, we would have no such stereotype to begin with. But a stereotype is not an entirety.

At any given point in time I waver from quasi-nerd celebrity to completely irrelevant forum grognard.

I go by Talen Lee, and chances are, I hate your favourite thing in the world.

It's my schtick.
So the question is, do you hate hatred?

Let us suppose Person A's favorite thing is hatred. He hates hatred. Thus, he ceases to hate. Now he is quite agreeable. Person A's favorite thing is hatred. He will likely agree with this intense like. He will hate. He will then hate hatred. Repeat ad infinitum.

I guess my point is, in the end, what does it all matter either way?  :couch

I suppose it doesn't.  Now where's the Morla the Ancient One smiley so we can properly not even care whether or not we care? :P

Yes - and yet I do this thing that I hate. So I hate myself.

It's all a vicious, self-fulfilling prophecy. Silly people, treating emotions like they're logical.

Late but...

I'm Shadeseraph in WotC boards, a CO-lurker for a long time. I'm spanish, the main reason for my long lurking. Just recently I decided to try my limited english skills, so, with some time, I hope to get that lurker mark out of me.

I'm a computer, roleplaying and jazz geek, right now in college, with only half a year left to start a living on my own.

I hate mouth breathing fuckwits who go around spouting lies, even after being corrected on those lies, and that bait mods into helping to defend their wrongness and fail. I also hate the MBFs that don't understand the meaning of words, and that can't get a fucking clue.
Hey! I like spouting lies. It's very entertaining to observe how people on the internet are buffing their small egos by declaring victories over some stupid MBFs. :smirk
Also - I hate people who use too smart words that I don't understand. :mad

Im altpersona.. aka paul from kentucky, usa

idk what part of ohio was compared to a sub plane of hell, but i doubt you have seen it here.

mid 30s , one kid who is just getting interested in rpg's. married 13yrs.

ex navy, electronics tech. ET1 nwp.

been in dnd since i was 13? maybe.?

just discovered wotc co forums last year or the year before..

there are less than a hundred pen and paper gamers around here, at least thats how it seems..
lots of 'my renegade drow ranger uses his sla darkness' bleh.

i typically get to game once a month if im lucky...

im terrible at CO, but it pass's the time..

iv played tons of games... not recently... i like the tmnt and rifts stuff the best. but that whole system is so messed up i cant tolerate making a character..

i tend to enjoy getting my character killed, cause then i get to make a new lvl 1 torchbearer... lvl 1 is where all the fun is..

if you have , and i know you do, google earth my zip is 41101

i dig russian lit, doug adams (not just hitchhikers), iv read all the wheel of time books so far.. yes the slow part in the middle was terrible..  , history, philosophy, saltwater aquaria.. myspace is /altpersona , fishing,

my last dnd character was a rogue 1/wiz3 going MotAO /ArchMage... but my DM is out of commission for the rest of the year so thats probably done...

i try to keep the co wiki handbooks page up to date, but it lags sometimes...

musically im stuck in the sub culture 80s. and guitar rock 70s... before my mrs washed my mp3 player it had 4? pink floyd records and 3 they might be giants records on it.

i dislike proper spelling. language isnt math one does not equal won. but it should.

It's a joke. That is the name of Woody Harrelson's character in "Wag the Dog". His character was by far the funniest thing in that movie, I thought, and especially when he uttered the line "I like the night life. I like to boogie."
My real life name is Sgt. William Schumann. I like the night life. I like to boogie.
Like the Pulitzer prize winner? Or is this just a joke I am not getting?

Anyway, I don't usually like Sergeants, bad experiences about them, but with you I can make an exception.

Let me uncover my secret identity too then,

I'm Guido in real life, living in the small (24000ppl) town of Lisse, which you might know from the Keukenhof and the corresponding migration of german and most of all Japanese photographers/tourists who apparently find anything interested....

I'm 20 years old, studying International Business Administration in Rotterdam, and have played DnD for over 5 years now.

I am not to good in optimizing and am often wrong concerning rules, since I only read the best part of sentences  :P

Hello :)
I'm Jaap Stoel in real life. I'm from Zwolle which lies in the Netherlands. Thats the country that surrounds Amsterdam :P.
I'm finishing up my IT study. I'm 26. I've been playing DnD for 4 or 5 years and DM-ing for one year less.

To be honest, like many here I'm a gleemax refugee. Be nice to refugees.

And another Dutch guy reporting  :)

My name is Joop, I'm 21 years old and live in a small town called Didam in the Netherlands. I'm currently studying philosophy in Nijmegen.

I've been playing D&D for about 3-4 years now I think.

Also a refugee from the Gleemax boards by the way, so it looks like we've got a regular refugee camp going on here...

Hi, y'all. I'm another gleemax semi-exodus-ian - my handle there's the same as here, which is what it generally is anywhere I can snag it. Fuggle is me and I am the Fuggle. All others shall be decapitates and their powers absorbed... but perhaps I've said too much. :)

I somehow missed being cognizant of most of the drama at gleemax, but I can sense the ship is a-sinkin' - and so once I make backups of stuff I've posted, and stuff other people've posted that I use, I plan to get the hell out of dodge with the rest of the (cranium) rats.

I noticed this place being tossed around as one of the big three names people kept mentioning, people I respected and thought had a good head, and then I figured I'd wander by here, and lurked a bit to see that y'all generally seem rather cool.

So yeah. I'm a 20-something Austinite (which is different than being a Texan), lifelong gamer (dnd since the dawn of 3.5) and psych major (I don't do 'couch stuff'), and I hope this place works out. Like many people I'm not as good as some people who're amazing at mechanical manipulation, but I've been trying to learn, because I like to play with game mechanics and twink around like how some people like to play with cars.

Oh hey, cool, we got StruckingFuggle.  I was wondering if he was going to show up around here.

As for what's going on around gleemax, that's some pretty ugly business.  I think the simplest way to summarize what it ultimately boils down to is, community management (and by their approval, wotc itself) is very disrespectful to its customers and volunteer helpers, and the emigrants don't want to associate directly with them anymore, particularly not with forum accounts tying into for-pay services that can be revoked (with no refund of course) on a whim later.

Thanks!

As for gleemax, man. The more I hear about the forums, and the plans with 4e distribution in general, the more I'm half-glad I haven't heard more, and the more I wonder how I missed all of this stuff. Blarg. At least there's some place new to go! Heck knows I learned a lot about the game over there and had some fun ... no matter how much WotC tries to axe the fun. :)

Don't be so surprised. You've been around long enough to become one of the known names, and as far as I remember your posts have always been useful as well :)
