He better have Silent Spell then, AND have it prepared.

Yeah, maybe. I imagine he'd be relying on Metamagic Rods for that sort of situational usage - I can't see many spellcasters outside of Incantatrix wasting a feat on Silent Spell. Having Water Breathing prepared is situational, though I imagine every Cleric would have Ethereal Jaunt and Word of Recall prepared (Much like every Wizard would have a Teleport on hand in case things got nasty).

Once again, poor fighter. I suppose he can hack at the rock and try and break it.

It removes the Cleric from the fight, which turns an "Impossble" encounter to one that is a cake walk. That is why POA at low levels is really, really overpowered. It is an 8th level spell for a reason, and one that is rightfully priced at 8th level, IMO. To have it AT WILL at low levels? Ugly.

Kingdoms of Kalamar is a campaign setting that iswas "officially licensed" ... because it's got some of the most broken stuff ever

None of this is now RAW, so I hear. I consider both dungeon and dragon magazine material balanced and useable, unlike all those kingdoms of kalamar books. I don't touch them with a 50' pole, nor do I know anyone who does.

My first look through the stuff and I found an NI combo in the same book. Sad, really. I'm sorry but this thread is useless.

Yeah I also have to disagree. Where is the proof that its not officially licensed? It has the official seal, it says its officially licensed, and it even contains official 3.5 update books...soo, whats not official about it? Just because you don't like something because you think its broken (and I agree, there's some nasty stuff in there, my favorite being irresistible spell) doesn't mean its not just as viable as any other official material out there. Its just constantly overlooked since its not one of the common campaign settings. Also remember, plenty of stuff in the 3.5 PHB is just as broken...it just takes more technical skill to break it.

The fey thing is in the 3.5 updte book for aome reason

Link? Sorry man, my Google-fu seems to be failing me, none of the 3.5 updates that are showing up for Kalamar include the Fey thing.
http://www.kenzerco.com/Orpg/kalamar/

They broke up the updates for some strange reason.  They've posted separate bits of errata in at least three places - no wonder it's hard to find.

EDIT: Even kalamar trolls are better

Thanks man. Also, that forum thread is pure gold. Man, we should give the Wizard a power boost!

Oh, and Dangerous Denizens: the Monsters of Tellene , Divine Masters , Kingdoms of Kalamar Campaign Setting (4E) , Player's Guide to the Sovereign Lands, and the rest of the stuff from here are all unlicensed (since they came out after their limited time license with WotC expired).

Our license agreement with Wizards of the Coast has ended. This means that certain rulebooks using material from TSR/WotC products, or the D&D logo, are now unavailable from our web store.

Has anyone found any more scalable spells other than in the player's guide? They seem like a cool concept and I was thinking about a build based on them.

I haven't been able to find any, which is a real shame, since they're such a nice mechanic.

Are these what you're looking for?

So you end up stuck in an endless loop, unable to act, forever.

In retrospect, much like Keanu Reeves.

There aren't very many metapower powers, which some scaled spells were used for.  Like "End", which automatically dispels one of your spells, regardless of whether or not you otherwise could dismiss it.  Niche use for curses or things like that, though dispel magic is much more widely useful.  Similarly, the previously-mentioned "a moment ago".

It was a joke about psionics being scaling because you can augment them. I fail at humor.

Hey, Kalamar has some stuff that's nice for Fighters too! Like Expert Tactician: has nice prereqs, and it gives you an extra combat maneuver if an enemy is flatfooted. As a free action at the end of your "turn". Guess what one of the combat maneuvers introduced the chapter before does...

Even without that, you can use it for extra attacks, which is nice.
Fighter: "I can kill a guy in one turn."
Cleric: "I can kill a guy in half a turn."
Wizard: "I can kill a guy before my turn."
Bard: "I can get three idiots to kill guys for me."

On a strange note, would anyone be put out if we had a post about people or events we can spare a thought for, or if its within their creed, a prayer for? Just a random thought, but ... hells I wouldn't have known about either Archangels daughter or Saeomons niece if I didn't happen to be on these threads.
Sounds fine to me.
probably over on "Off-topic".
might want to put a little disclaimer in the first post.

This is the Min/Max board. We should be able to figure out a way to optimize the POWER OF PRAYER(TM) that doesn't involve "Pazuzu, Pazuzu, Pazuzu".
Also unerring strike is godly when combined with a two handed power attack. You basically get your full BAB added to your damage without any penalty to your attack. Further combine this with the frenzied berzerker's capstone and you have like +80 to your base damage with every attack.

No one pointed out that you don't gain Ex abilities from Alter Self yet? Slackers.
A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

I was assuming they were comboing it with a Master Transmogrofist...
