IntroI know someone who wishes to make a character for a campaign I run. He's somewhat new to 3.5 and greatly enjoys Clerics, to the point of greatly disliking other classes. He wants to be able to fight with the front-liners as well as buff an heal.
I seriously considered Ruby Knight Vindicator for this build, but I figured full casting was more important.
Party Mates
-Changeling Beguiler3: "She" is the lucky, charismatic socialite who changes identities more often than some people change toilet paper. "She" eventually intends to get a sneaky dvati cohort for extra head twisting logistical fun. "She" is going for a house ruled fortune's friend.
-Dragonborn Gray Elf Cloistered Cleric3: He wanted to be the healer and buffer. Honest. He's going for Persistent Divine Metamagic buffs.
-Dwarf Samurai1/Crusader1/Barbarian1: He'a the group's dual wielding 'tank.'
-Gray Elf Conjurer3: He is an apparently arrogant know-it-all God who banned Necromancy and Enchantment. He's going for incantatrix and archmage. Due to party issues, he may soon leave the party.
-Gray Elf Swashbuckler2/Warblade1: He's another two weapon fighter, heading for dervish, but he relies on light weapons. He wants Insightful Strike from swashbuckler ASAP. Due to out of character thingies, he'll soon leave the party.
-Wood Elf Ranger3: He's the group's archer. He wants to be the best archer he can be. He also loves puppies.
Smacky McHolyNotesHe fights primarily with a longspear, attacking foes with armor spikes if they come too close. He's no
Hood, and that's intentional, but he's mighty, he's holy, and you don't
want to make him angry.
This isn't the standard Divine Metamagic human build. House rules make taking half-orc, retaking Persistent Spell, and skipping DMM more appealing.

Most Relevant House Rules
-Eternal Blade is house ruled to be open to all races and requires only 6 BAB.
-Power Attack works on composite bows that add STR bonus to damage. Normally, as a 2-handed weapon, you get +2 damage per -1 accuracy, up to your BAB.
-Weapon Focus gives +1 accuracy and +1 more accuracy per 4 BAB with the chosen weapon.
-Improved Critical also automatically confirms criticals with the selected weapon.
-The max number of ranks for any skill is 3+HD, barring special circumstances. Cross-class ranks cost 1 point per half rank while class skills cost 1 point per rank.
-There are no favored classes or experience penalties for breaking your race's stereotype.
-Partial BAB stacking is in effect. This allows a Swordsage1/Cleric1 to have a BAB of 1 (rounded down from 1.5) instead of 0.
-We don't use alignment. Most alignment-based restrictions are gone and most alignment-based effects are changed.
-Pantheon-wise, we use Eberron's. Many Clerics of an ethos (belief only, no deity) also exist.
-Half-orcs get bonus skill points (as human) and can Rage or Whirling Frenzy 1/day as a Barbarian. They also have -2 INT OR CHA. (In this case, I chose -2 CHA.)
-Taking a metamagic feat like Persistent gives 1 free spontaneous application per day. Retaking a metamagic feat gives +2 uses.
-All classes give at least 4+INT mod skill points per level.
-All sources are allowed, pending DM approval.
