Restricted Min Maxing
« on: February 15, 2009, 09:51:14 PM »
There is this game. Only PHB, MM, DMG and FR - Player's guide allowed.

Based on that any suggestions for a prestige class for this wizard?
[link to the sheet]

The concept of the character is a tough ex-bandit half-orc evil wizard who's not a fragile spellcaster.
He doesn't often resort to melee though, as being far more smart then that.

His feats are almost all trade-able and any srd stuff is also allowed (like unhearted arcana things)
Good gaming for you.

Incantatrix.  Hathran.  Either with retraining works fine.  The first is stronger.
Winning an argument on the internet is like winning in the Special Olympics.  You won, but you're still retarded.

I made a Handbook!?

Silly me, I thought Incantatrix was from Magic of Faerun, which is why I didn't say anything. I'll give you that one. ;)

Anyway, yes, Incantatrix is fantastic.

If you have milita then you should consider going eldritch knight, that's pretty the only reason a wizard should have the feat.

Hathran's are female and good aligned, I don't think he qualifies. Incantrix wins.

But what do you want? A meleer, A BC god, a buffer, a blaster? With wizard a lot is possible, especially if your specialising.
"No, no, don't think, Maya." Ritsuko chided. "We will not gattai the Evas or their pilots.

Such thoughts lead inevitably to transformation sequences."

I personally suggest wizard 5/Red Mage10/Arch Mage 5. It's easy, simple, the DM won't see it coming in case you want to destroy the campaign, but it's also not powerful enough to destroy the campaign without a bit of effort.

I'd suggest Incanatrix, also.  I'd focus on Transmutation and Illusion spells, buff yourself, and wade into combat with the melee types.  Use Extend and Chain on your buffs.  Rock out.
