: Prestige Bard
: Tazendra June 16, 2010, 10:21:00 AM
I'm working on a Dwarven Cloistered Cleric build and want to get her into Prestige Bard eventually to get all those nice Bard spells on her class list. Although Prestige Bard says that it advances arcane casting, my DM is allowing me to do a Divine Prestige Bard variant to advance divine spells instead.

Unfortunately Perform is not a class skill for Cloistered Clerics. Anyone know of a Prestige class that advances Divine Caster Levels and has Perform as a class skill?

well the i believe best end funiest thing owuld be in the Divine Prankster
advances any casting needs divine casting and has Preform as class skill
unfortunatly you have to be a gnome so this is out...

so what should be best for you is to take a hidden feat from unearthed arcana ;-)

Unearthed Arcana Page 81
SKILL KNOWLEDGE [General]
You gain access to new knowledge and abilities.
Benefit: Choose any two skills from one of your current
classes’ skill lists. You now know these skills as class skills.
Special: Instead of choosing two class skills, you may choose
one cross-class skill (whether you already know it or not) and
learn it, treating it as a class skill from that point forward.

since Preform is cross class for pretty much anybody but the bard you can add it to you class list and be set.
from then on it is allway a class skill for you and you can take good old fashioned divine prc's
that way you can enter prestige bard as soon as level 5

Apprentice: Performer also solves that problem.

That feat is from a variant skill system (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/buildingCharacters/alternativeSkillSystems.htm). Note that it says you can make a skill on your class list into a class skill. Think about that for a second.

Translated into the normal skill system, this feat means "You always have max ranks in two of your class skills. Or you can convert any one skill into a class skill and always have max ranks in it."

i see and humbly stand corrected.

in that case go for:
Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting Page 34
Cosmopolitan:
Region:Amn, Waterdeep
Choose a nonexclusive skill you do not have as a class skill. You gain a +2 bonus on all checks with that skill, and that skill is always considerded a class skill for you.
Special:
You may take this feat multiple times. Its effects do not stack. Each time you take the feat, it applies to a new skill.

and the world goes round once again

I do believe that skill has been updated for 3.5 and no longer allows you to pick a skill.  I am without books at the moment though.
