: What is dead may never die, but rises again, harder and stronger
: Bigtuna August 24, 2011, 10:39:23 AM
So I was thinking of playing a cha based cleric3/walker of the waste10/someting - with the dynamic priest feat. Dumping con. That would make me rather weak the first 12 levels. So I was thinking would this work:
-perform the ritual necropolitan ritual (when I get the cash) - not sure if I would benefit from the corpes crafter feat - but desecrate with and alter should work. No later than cleric 3/WotW9 I'll kindy ask somebody to destroy me - and then raise/resurrect me again. (would I keep the Xp/levels gain while undead?) and then make my self into a Dry Lich (I'll need the aid of Dry Lich - so again not sure if Corpe crafter would help).

So would that work? - And a become a necropolitan - rise again - and keep my levels before once again gaining the Undead status?

It works, but becoming Necropolitan costs you a level and then dying costs you another level unless you pay for true rez

Or Revivify.

Necropolitan level is quickly regained if Experience is a River.

Revivify would be iffy. That needs to be cast within one round of your death. And in this case that would be ages ago, during the ritual that made you into a Necropolitan

Well I think of Xp as a river :-)

And paying a level for necropolitan and an other later should be better than having a sucky con score for 12 levels - It would most likely cost me a level or tow anyway :-)

Thanks.

All hail the great Kraken of House Greyjoy!

So technically if your undead, wouldn't that mean you would be considered one of the cold ones?  :D

If you do not understand the reference then I highly suggest you read up on the book series "A Song of Fire and Ice"

With the cold subtype I could pass fort "An Other" :-)

And well the number of "views" of a topic could have something to do with what you write in the subjet line...

:-)

Is there not a way of getting a phylactery which might help with the second death?

A second death is redead.

What you want is unredead.

Don't get a phylactery until level 13 - so after level 13 - (where I'll get 1d12's +cha +2 (desicrating) + 2 corpecrafter (perhaps) HP's = a shit load of HP's  so dying isn't really as much of an issue as before lvl 13). And after lvl 13 I'll be dead, can't be killing unless something destroys my phylactery's, I'll just reform/rise again after a few weeks, and the template also makes me harder (+5 nat armor) and stronger (+2 str)...

Unredead :-)

When I first glanced at this, I read it as "What thread may never die, but rises again, harder and stronger" and thought "Oh, it must be another fighter vs. wizard thread"...
