: What questionably cheesy tricks are allowed in your games?

For some characters, I encourage using Metamagic School Focus (http://www.realmshelps.net/cgi-bin/feats.pl?Metamagic_School_Focus) and Heighten Spell to get access to higher level spells early.  It's especially helpful for reserve feats and Shadowcraft Mage early entry.

2: I encourage psychic reformation + Primary Contact (Cityscape 61) for some early entry, such as Sublime Chord.

My group has always been comfortable shifting power levels around for different games.  As such, we had one game where you had to be a Human or Halfling Commoner 6 and you had to pick lame feats that matched your profession as a worker around town, such as Skill Focus: Profession Bar Tender.  In another, Dragonwrought Kobolds with Sovereign Archetypes were allowed (and made up most of the dragon themed group), while in another we used a Planar Binding/Candle of Invocation wish loop, with the advance stipulation that it couldn't be used for anything that would give us power, only cool stuff (so we got a Haunt Shift controlled Soarwood and Bronzewood carriage with hidden legs for transport around the underdark).

It all depends on the particular game.

In my last campaign we used quite a lot of powerful stuff (incantatrix+metamagic reducers, reach spell+persistent spell cheese, wish loops for cool stuff only (our castle), DMM persist CoDzilla, etc). In the campaign we're starting in 1 week or too however, we're aiming much lower (around tier 3 power level, no tier 1-2 classes, no uberchargers, no persistent spells etc.)

Actually I use a little bit of cheese myself when DMing, from time to time that is. Mostly with bosses only (DMM persist Cleric with Nightsticks? Pre-planar bound allies galore? Sure, should be memorable!). My players don't usually go for that kinda thing, though. The most questionable stuff they do is something like Lion Totem and Wolf Totem Barbarian (on one character, but the back story made sense for this), or a Druid with Natural Spell raining death in the shape of a dove (in a swarm of doves...).

Playing a venerable dragonwrought kobold garners no questions, but I've never actually tried taking an archetype with one or taking a prestige class early.

Immunity to fatigue and exhaustion + spelldancing, incantatrix, and other things that reduce metamagic costs severely are generally accepted as well, and an explanation of why magic is more powerful than psionics, which pleasantly makes it more likely that when I try psionic recharge it'll be accepted.

Books full of explosive runes are indeed favored 'bombs'.

We play with epic spellcraft DC reducers as written.

Mm...probably more.

Ah right. Naberius + Hellfire Warlock.

Yeah, our group changes depending on the style

Game one: Natural Spell Druid/Planar shepherd (do not get time traits, still gets silly), DMM Persist cleric crafting slotless reliquary holy symbols, wizard incantatrix.

Game 2: First 4 levels are NPC classes, then whatever you want (Played Warrior 4/Cleric 1/Ur-Priest 4, still not really crazy since the game stopped at level 9 or so).

Game 3: Only Tier 3 and down.
