Exercise: Core melee bard.

Here's (http://www.thetangledweb.net/forums/profiler/view_char.php?cid=43673) what I have so far.

Any suggestions on how to improve?

There's no spell list on that sheet? And you're going for bard 20 it looks like, right?

Anyway, it needs more UMD abuse. Where the staff with Shapechange in it?

Uncheck the small box under the skills table.

A whip-based tripper and disarmer could work. Or you could go for a twf build with a whip and short sword if you're worried about doing actual damage but I think it's too feat intensive for too little reward since your summons or charmed creatures should be doing the actual damage. Spell focus (enchantment) and greater spell focus (enchantment) could be good too depending on the spell list.

Anyways my build would be:
1-combat expertise, improved trip ,3-improved disarm, 6-spell focus: enchantment, 9-greater spell focus: enchantment, 12-heighten spell, 15-spell penetration, 18-greater spell penetration

Spellwise I'd get summon monster I, silent image, and charm monster on there replacing feather fall, unseen servant, and major image.

Does it have to be human? Orcs is way better in the melee aspect of things. Not as good with the spells, but its still pretty decent.

I thought the whole point of the bard was convincing three other fools to kill stuff for you, not doing it yourself?
