There are a ton of user icons that absolutely need explaining because I, for one, don't know who or what they are of and what relevance they have to anything.
Mine's a rhino ass. I suppose it's Bob's ass. He's squirrel-y like that. I had to reupload my userpic anyway, so I changed it from the happily grazing rhino to this. I like this one better. It captures Bob's essence.
So explain yourselves. What is your icon of and why is it your icon?

Mine's an animated gif from the illustration to The Cheese Stands Alone, a card from the Magic: the Gathering CCG, Unglued extension. I've never taken MtG very seriously and had a hell of a time playing Unglued, and the Cheese was my favorite card, both for the picture, the effect, and the flavor text.

The awesome thing about that is that The Cheese Stands Alone is the only card from an Un-set (a joke set) reprinted in an actual set: Future Sight's Barren Glory.

It's my Featured Writer picture from Starcity Games, mspaint-edited to a ninja, part of a tradition of bad edits. I was basically barred from posting on the forums at all, from daring to comment on another (now excruciatingly popular) writers' work. This led to some speculation amongst my readers that I was kicked off the site or banned due to some other effect. When I was finally permitted to post once more (by the magnanimous directive of the criticized writer), I edited my picture appropriately, to indicate my stealthy posting habits.
Depressing and stupid stuff, really. I'd change it, I suppose, but I can't find anything really cool. I really liked my old blade dancer pic I had on the WotC boards, but since leaving those behind me, I just can't bring myself to use their art.

The scan is kinda bad, but I found this on a fan site. Oddly enough, Beachhead is the "drill instructor" for the Joe team, but Gung Ho displays the proper enthusiasm/rage necessary for the job.

I thought this was just an awseom pic of a psion aberationist. Much cooler than
those become an illithid feats. I did like the idea behind the card but remeber it being overpriced and undefendable. Still a cool idea though.

Every time I look at your avy I see a purple monkey. Crouched down and all. Those front tentacles are arms. The back ones are a branch. You can't look at the eyes of the octopus, but the whiter area in front of it.

I've always liked the card, although I don't know that I've ever gotten the chance to use it in play. Even if I had it out, I know I've never used its ability to steal creatures from an opponent's graveyard. Oh well.

Awesome, but Impractical. She makes a great EDH General though, for some strange reason.

She only gets to hit once or twice, but that's all she needs to do. And if she gets icked, you're usually up a card.

The problem is her cost. 5 mana is not easy to get in Extended, and there is so much hate that's so easy to get (Condemn, anyone?) that she's impractical.
Granted, she rocked during Block season.

So, I do have access to things like Dark Rituals and Sol Rings (well Sol Ring, singular), and the like.
That being said, sadly, I seldom get to play anymore. I picked her up toward the end of my semi-regular playing days.

EDH is Elder Dragon Highlander. It's the format that got me back into magic. Google it, it's like the first or second result.

well, I don't know about that. I mean I sure listed plenty of other people that have been Batman, and KnightDisciple is McGinnis, so I would say that's not acurate. Plus, while it's not a sentiment I personally share, a large segment of the Batman fan community considers the Adam West television show to be a scar on the history of the character, best tucked away and forgotten. I personally enjoy it's campyness, especially since the actors were always aware of the show they were created, and were trying to achieve that campy quality. Besides, that was what the country wanted at the time, and it reflected the tone of the comic books. Having said all that, that Batman was still Bruce Wayne, so, according to my above post, that is also me.
*the above is just me showing off my knowledge and not me trying to instigate. :D If you would like to discuss the relative merits of various Batman interpretations, I would enjoy that quite a bit, but that would really derail this thread, so we could start a new one if anyone wants to.*

A looooong time ago at 339 I was a Lockwood drawing of an old man using the firefinger form of Cantrip. Then I became an Uncon prizewinner and was a Snowy Owl (obviously) for the longest damn time.
At the time of the boards crash I was (and still am) in a righteous viking mood, and as such, I have a burly viking as my avatar. Oddly enough, the avatar's hairstyle is similar to my own...

IIRC, Gurren-Lagann didn't get a mindfuck on its last episode. Though, to be fair, that's the only case I can remember of Gainax doing stuff like that.

The author himself mentioned during the manga that making Evangelion was like therapy to him, as he was going through a tremendously bad phase of his life back then. Therefore, the whole deal with making what was initially an action series into one based off drama and characters with more screws loose than an android hooker was likely part of what he had in mind from the start.
Also, as mentioned before, Gainax traditionally makes last episodes that make you go "WTF?!", so Evangelion's ending was not that surprising.
Oh yeah, and the whole people suddenly go happy for whatever reason thing? That was all in Shinji's mind. The movie assumes crap hit the fan pretty heavily by the end of the series.

That is my favorite hedgehog picture ever. I made that an avatar for my LJ a long time ago. :D
Hegehogs are fun, but they're stinky and REALLY annoying when you're trying to sleep.
I had a hedgehog for a few months (I basically took it home for a summer from a school because they just left it there, unattended). I named him Mochi (riceball in Japanese). He was sooo cute. Their bellies are so soft... but their backs are so prickly!
I loved him so much. Except one time, he ran up my pant leg and I thought I was going to die. My two friends who witnessed it were laughing hysterically as I frantically, but gently, ran to the bathroom and ripped off my pants. Fortunately, he didn't get angry. But it was still terrifying.
They're a lot of work though. Mochi was allergic to the pine that he had been forced to live in. He also had a rash from living in his own urine and feces for a month. I made him swim daily (to both work off the pounds that he had gained and also to rinse off any urine). *sigh*
He was so cute and so happy. I loved watching him try to eat crickets. It was highly amusing.
I'm so mad that I gave him back to the school. Those stupid fucking kids killed him-they neglected to feed him and his mother. So mochi starved to death and his mother ate him. Wonderful ending, right?
That school doesn't have animals anymore. I'm glad.

I've tried multiple images and extensions. GIF: too large or not an avatar. JPG: too large or not an avatar. PHP: too large or not an avatar. BMP: ... you get the idea.

In KOTOR 2 you can use them twice: Once to stop Sith invaders and once to shoot down Onderon military vessels. The first time I let them in for extra XP (optimizing!) and I shot down the vessels just for good sport.

Indeed. I somehow figured it was common knowledge already. The problem was I figured that out with a light side character, so my force points did not recover in the temple apart from the +2 points every round I got from items. Needless to say, I was not overly excited about staying there and killing two monsters a minute just to get 450xp a piece.

I had better luck just sabering them to death, but that was because my light side characters tend to be melee focused and dark siders are Force users. Most of the really nice offensive powers are dark side anyway, so the discount on the force points helps. I came back as a Sith in a later game and filled the whole room before killing them all with lightning. Eh, it's really not that important, I guess--the game was somewhat easier than the first KOTOR, I thought.

Although for a Consular the Force point cost reductions don't really matter. Korriban was always my last planet and at that point (and already well before that) one never runs out of Force points even with the Force potency form at use.

Like all of you can see, I am still just switching between Jokers. I wonder if animated avatars work on these boards? The only non-Joker avatar I use at any frequency, Pahuuden Pomppiva Pupu, is an animated one, but I might consider introducing it to the forums assuming they work properly.

I only view the first ending as canon. The other two suck too hard. But the rest of the game had some interesting portions (the plot was just a tad mediocre).
