I'll update the map, you're right that currently they can guess her general area because of her mount being partially visible.

Gimme a couple of minutes :)

EDIT: Venn, PM regarding your Listen check.

Thanks. Sorry for the bother, but that could be a big deal. :D
[spoiler]
A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

I understand. I did take the center of your mount as the center of the spell though (seeing as the center needs to be at an intersection that seemed the most logical choice), which means part of the road isn't obscured.

Sunflower and her mount should be fine though (unless someone moves up next to the cloud and they don't make a 5ft step back before that time).

I hope that's okay :)

Venn, you might want to take a 5' step before launching all those attacks, unless you like drawing attacks of opportunity.  :D (Although I guess if he has a bow equipped he probably doesn't threaten, though... Is that the idea?)

Well, I'm hidden from that first guy, RA2. You can't take an AoO against a foe you can't see. I could have sworn I'd seen an official rule about that. There's no way you could react to an attack you can't see, especially if it's coming from behind you and you're unaware of the creature, but I guess since I can't find an official rule it doesn't matter.

He was armed with a ranged weapon anyway, so as you said, it doesn't matter in this case.

Well, damn. At least I'm still in the trees. That's got to count for something. :)

Can't make AoO if flatfooted is the rule. Unless you have Combat Reflexes.

I half wish Bowen gave those archers Elven bows + Combat Reflexes just to screw with us now...

Oh! and don't worry about the hiding. I hit 'em with Grease.

Oh, sorry. I shifted, casted, then shifting back. The wand is in a wand chamber in my staff.

Let's hope that sometime during the campaign we find a wand of grease at a higher CL, so it lasts longer than a round. :D

Are the creatures in the area automatically flat-footed/balancing, or do they have to fail a save? I think failing means they fall prone rather than are balancing, so I guess the former?

Speaking of CL (and range), you'll need to be in L15 (or some L16 or something) to get the area you want covered with grease, bears.

@Venn: They don't need to make a Balance check until they want to move, so only those that moved/tried to move are considered Balancing (and thus Flat-Footed if they have less than 5 ranks in Balance).

Oh damn I must've counted wrong. Ehhhh I'll just be in L15.

@Venn
Which means you'll kill at least that dog.

And yeah, getting a new Wand would cost 750g * CL to buy. We'll get one soon I think.

Why not get a staff? They can arguably be used at higher CL with a high UMD result. :D
Hell, they're even cheaper than wands if you put only one spell in them.
It's all about vision and making reality conform to your vision. By dropping a fucking house on it.

In that case, Grease actually works against me more than it works for me. If a creature doesn't move, I get no benefit. If they do and they fall, it's harder for me to hit them. There's only a tiny space for benefit, which is if I'm engaged in melee with the creature in question, and that's somewhere I don't want to be unless I know I can either get good damage off on them or I have little other choice.

@bears: Again, prone is terrible for me. Being prone doesn't deny a foe their dex bonus, so no sneak attack, plus they get a +4 to ac vs. ranged attacks. I'd be wasting an action if I attacked the prone dog.

Why not get a staff?
That could work.

@Venn
...oh  :embarrassed
I won't use it next time
