Q625: How does Strength Devotion (Complete Champion) interact with other natural weapons? It says you gain a slam attack, and has a damage chart, then states that if you have another natural weapon, you use the higher damage value. Does that mean that at first level, my kobold's bite/claw/claw deal 1d4 damage instead of 1d3? Do they each get benefit from that +2 circumstance bonus to hit, being natural weapons that I already had, or just one of them?

Q626: If I have an initiator level high enough to learn a maneuver from Swordsage and Master of Nine levels, and I also have Crusader levels, can I add the maneuver that I wanted to learn to my Crusader recovery mechanic, or do I have to qualify with the initiator levels gained through my Crusader levels added to my Master of Nine levels (and of course the initiator levels gained form 1/2 swordsage)?

There's one that does level drain, isn't there?

I'm betting that'd be the best, unless the DC is shit.

DC is based off 10+half HD+Con, so it'd be hard for a dragon to have a shitty DC. As for someone who gets it some other way, I can't be sure.

Level drain is always good unless you deal with lots of undead.

From ToB, page 96:

If you have levels in two or more martial adept standard
classes (for example, you are a multiclass swordsage/warblade),
you must decide to which of your existing martial
adept classes the new maneuvers known or maneuvers
readied apply.

The latter.  You must track each completely separately (excepting the 1/2 initiator level boost from other classes).

I believe page 96 says differently. He CAN add those to his Crusader mechanic - but those that he had as a Swordsage remain so.

As a PC, or vs a party? What are you looking for exactly?

Some of the metallic dragons have breath weapons with fairly debilitating effects. Take for instance a brass dragon. Boost con, take ability focus and throw in heighten breath, and you can potentially put the entire party to sleep (since sleep does not seem as easy to counter as say, paralysis or energy drain).

A624:  All official WoTC publications.  Dragon and Dungeon Magazines aren't "official", and a lot of the Dragonlance books weren't printed by WoTC, just like the Ravenloft Campaign Setting books before Expidition to Castle Ravenloft came out.  See here.

Edit: Forgot to mention that they're still official books since they're official liscensees of WoTC.[/quote]
I'm still confused (your edit), but I saw that list before though it includes novels and figurines and maps in 3.5 and also includes 4.0 books (many of which have not been published yet). For instance why would the dragonlance campaign setting be official but none of the suppliments for that campaign setting... Perhaps this deserves its own thread - I just thought this would have been addressed somewhere before that I had not seen.

Because Wizards didn't print them.  They were printed by a third party, but have a WOtC logo in them saying that they are official licensed products.  So WOtC recognizes them as official, but they're not on the list because they weren't printed by Wizards.

Reds and golds both have d10, and both hit CL 17 at Wyrm age (or Ancient with Loredrake).

CR 23. Maybe just focus on pure caster levels then. Even if it means taking class levels to advance casting (and since those aren't associated because that's only part of what dragons do)... :evillaugh

Q 630: I'm flushing out a Norse campaign setting, and am trying to figure the best way to represent a fylgia, or personal guardian spirit some people where thought to have (it was thought those born with a membrane on their head [the amniotic sac] would be blessed with a fylgia).  The best ways within the rules to do this that I can find are via the Spirit Shaman's spirit companion, the Durthan's Telthor Companion, and the Hexblade's PHBII alternate class feature that replaces their familiar.

I like the Telthor option best (in the case of the Durthan, she gains a telthor as a companion that then must stay within one mile of her, rather than within one mile of the spot where it died), but would like to find a way to expand that to more characters.  Is there any way anyone can think of, other than DM fiat, to achieve something like a Telthor (UE) or Spirit Animal (Frostburn) as a companion?  Obtain familiar is not what I'm looking for.
