Q57: How does Fell Drain (libris mortis) interact with spells that deal periodic damage? Do targets take a negative level each time they take damage from the spell, or just the first time?

Q58

The text of the spell expeditius retreat says:

Quote
(snip)...There is no effect on other modes of movement, such as burrow, climb, fly, or swim.

How does this interact wit spells and abilities like "sudden shift" that gives you a flight, burrow, climb or swim speed equal to your land speed?

On a side note, I hate my picky DM and I want a whole optimization forum to backup my rule-lawyering opinions :P :P :P

A 58. As long as expeditious retreat is cast first, your land speed is base +30, so the sudden shift will give you a speed equal to that.

On a side note, you better not be talking about me :P

Q59. If you have haste in effect, and are wearing the wings from the phoenix item set (MIC), which give you a fly speed equal to your land speed, do you get +30 to your land speed, which becomes your new base fly speed, which then gains an additional +30 (for a total of +60 speed), or do you only get +30 speed?

It isn't quite having the same bonus apply twice...

Apart from Drow Paragon, is there a prestige class/psuedo prestige class that a wizard can enter before 6th level which advances spellcasting 1st level AND has at least 3/4 BAB.

He already can in 3.5, since FE damage is no longer precision-based, and will thus apply even to crit-immune foes like constructs and elementals. :)

A 60: I can't think of any... unless you're willing to use one of the early entry tricks like the krau sigil or precocious apprentice or earth spell, etc.

A60a. You mention drow paragon, but there are other paragon classes if that's possible. :shrug Otherwise, I agree with Surreal

That's how I see it, too... And no, I wasn't talking about you :P

The question came to mind reading my character sheet from your PbP game and remembering a past episode at my game table, tho.  :lol [/spoiler]

A59
I'd say you gain 30ft landspeed and 60ft flight speed:

landspeed = base speed+haste
Flight speed = landspeed+haste

Nice! :)

Q62  What bonus to damage roll do you get for weilding a weapon with 4 and 3 hands (I think there is something on it in SS but I don't own it)?

A 62. SS is 3.0, so arguably void, but it states that each additional hand grants +1/2 Str bonus so 3 hands is 2x Str and 4 Hands is 2.5x Str.

Yes, each additional hand (to a maximum of 6, IIRC) grants +1/2 Str, but the weapon has to be modified for it.

Q 62b: Anyone want to guess how uncanny blow interacts with that? I would guess it either adds 1/2 Str or increases the ratio to match your number of hands.

A 63: Summon Monster VII can summon an Avoral, which has a fear aura that makes foes panicked (-2 to attacks, saves, skills, and checks).

A63a: Also, the Archons you can summon starting with the Lantern in SM-IV have aura of menace, which is a pretty low save DC, but if the enemy fails, it's a -2 penalty on attacks, AC, and saves for 24 hours or until they successfully hit the archon that generated the aura.

A64:

Quote

Importantly: concentrating is a standard action (of which you get one) and you can't cast one spell while concentrating on another (so even if you get another standard action somehow).
