Q188 The Visionary Speaker's (Planar Handbook) Spell Mimic ability lets you copy spells (up to 10th lvl) 3/day. The ability says that material components and focuses must be provided, but is XP still spent?

(Note: This is unlike the Spellthief's description, where they explicitly include XP cost.)

If XP costs are not included, does staying all 10 levels (lose 5 CL) still keep you on par with your full caster buddies [as you can spontaneously copy any 9th lvl spells, especially Miracle, Wish, Genesis, etc., they use]?

unless it says that the xp is covered, you have to pay it.

actually it should be the other way around shouldn't it? SLAs have no xp component and unless they tell you otherwise then you shouldn't have to pay it...

A193: The text directly above the description for Mindsight says:
"Tsochari that are especially capable with their telepathy take the Mindsight feat, described below."

Q195:

Can a lawful character take one level of ex-bard? As I see it, the character is not forbidden to be lawful until the bard level is actually achieved, at which point he immediately becomes an ex-bard. Will it fly?

(PHB I) When your character is not being threatened or distracted, you may choose to take 10.
Don't see why not (XPH doesn't say something else).

A195:

(DMG, PC) characters must meet requirements before they can take their first level of a prestige class.
Meaning that you have to get non-lawful, then take a level of bard, then get lawful again and be an ex-bard. Of course this can get problems with other classes, but scrolls of Atonement are not THAT expensive (I think).

Q196: How much essentia points can you invest in a single soulmate/item/class feature/feat in a single use? I just found that it is "based on the character's level", but not a table or function to determine the exact numbers. Is it just equal to the character level?

Theres a table, its on the colored background chapter header page, so its easy to miss. Chapter 2? I'm afb, but I think it's table 2-1 or 2-2

A gygaxian dungeon is like the world's most messed up game show.

Behind door number one: INSTANT DEATH!
Behind door number 2: A magic crown!
Behind door number 3: 4d6 giant bees, and THREE HUNDRED POUNDS OF HONEY!
They don't/haven't, was the point. 3.5 is as dead as people not liking nice tits.

Sometimes, their tits (3.5) get enhancements (houserules), but that doesn't mean people don't like nice tits.

Though sometimes, the surgeon (DM) botches them pretty bad...
Best metaphor I have seen in a long time.  I give you much fu.

Nine for Mortal Monks doomed to die,

A196: McPoyo is right, it's on table 2-1 which is located on page 19 of MoI.

In my humble opinion, CO is haberdashery. Some say we're mad, but we can all agree we're hatters. Yes, we have potential to make very sophisticated hats, very fancy hats, be they dark or light. But the truth is that the color of the hat does not come from the group of us - our community doesn't directly produce hats. We simply give average head circumferences, list current fashion trends, and point out some shiny, obscure baubles to add to the latest hat line.

The text directly above Mindsight is not rules text.  The only actual requirement for the feat is having telepathy, which the ghostwise halfling fulfills.

Q198: Are there any PrCs like the Demented One's Umbra Hunter, but for multiclass spellcasters/martial adepts? Homebrew should be OK.

Q 170 What would be the point behind the Smell of Fear (SpC) ranger spell, other than maybe grinding for levels? Rangers don't usually have a very high WIS score, and only count as half a caster, so having the spell need both a Will save AND SR, seems kind of pointless. It's possible that a ranger might cast it on someone so that their animal companion can gain bonuses (assuming it's a predator), or maybe on a villain who's been destroying the forest, but it seems more like a spell that a druid would use, and yet it's not on their spell list.

Q 176: Besides the feats I already have (Spell Focus (Conjuration), Augment Summoning, Ashbound, Greenbound Summoning) What are ways to pimp out Summon Nature's Ally?
A 176: Rashemi Elemental Summoning

Q 199: A wolf is in combat against a Bearded Devil (DR 5/alignment) and bites it for 4 damage (which is ignored).  Does the wolf get to trip the devil or not?  Where is this specified (couldn't find it myself)?

Quote
Trip (Ex)

A wolf that hits with a bite attack can attempt to trip the opponent (+1 check modifier) as a free action without making a touch attack or provoking an attack of opportunity. If the attempt fails, the opponent cannot react to trip the wolf.

There's none, IMO. It's just a bad spell, and wouldn't be worth casting even as a druid. Melee touch, will negates, AND SR: Yes.. Like, really? :p

Q199: I've read this and it's pretty sweet, but I'm looking for some other manners of boosting up a character's ML. More precisely, the crystal master has easy requirements (Knowledge (gemology) 4 ranks, Craft (gemcutting) 4 ranks, Psicrystal Affinity, Psicrystal Containment, Manifester level 5th) but I want to be able to enter in it before ECL6, preferably at ECL2. Is it possible?

"hits with a bite attack" not "deals damage with a bite attack". :) it works.
