Making Sabretooth in 9+ levels
« on: May 21, 2010, 03:14:55 AM »
So far I have the following in mind.

Razorclaw Shifter Ranger 1/Barbarian 3/Warshaper 2/Weretouched Master 3

Using Trap Expert (Search for Traps as per Rogue) and Trap-Killer (Survival -5 to find traps and attck them to disable them) variants for Ranger and Barbarian from UA. Weretouched Master animal type will be Tiger, giving good bonuses and pounce at tenth level (4th Were-Touched Master).

I get one flaw to utilise and so far I'm thinking of going the following.

1 Trap Expert Ranger. Feat: Razorclaw Elite, Bonus: Shifter Instincts This at level 1 is for the skill points really.
2 Trap-killer Barbarian.
3 Trap-killer Barbarian. Feat: Extra Shifter Trait: Longtooth
4 Trap-killer Barbarian. Able to kill traps now.
5 Warshaper. Immune to criticals/Sneak attacks. Natural Weaponry 1 size bigger.
6 Warshaper. Feat: Extra Shifter Trait: Beasthide +4 Str & Con.
7 Were-Touched Master.
8 Were-Touched Master. Shifter Bonus Feat: Shifter Savagery
9 Were-Touched Master. Feat: Shifter Multi-attack

Would love to get Evasion and Mettle but I don't know where from. Would also love to increase in size or get powerful build but not sure how.

He can rage 1/day and Shift 4/day. When he shifts he will gain +2 Str. +2 AC, Fangs and Claws that do decent damage.

How can I make this better?

You can take the extra rage feat (Complete Warrior) to gain 2 more uses of rage per day.  You can take the whirling frenzy variant to gain an extra attack and better AC while raging in exchange for your con bonus.  You can use the lion totem variant (Complete Champion) to trade fast movement for pounce.  You could then choose bear for weretouched master, if you like.

If the DM allows you to take skill knowledge, you can make disable device and search class skills for all your classes.  That would make barbarian 3 unnecessary.  If you don't have a particularly good dex score, barbarian 2 doesn't do a lot for you.

Excellent! Thank you.

Extra Rage might be a good idea. However perhaps using Skill Knowledge and changing the build to Ranger 2/Barbarian 2 etc would make the build more playable with trap finding..?

Whirling Frenzy and Lion Totem is a good idea. However I think Tiger fits better with the character.

Thank you Maat_Mons!

Perhaps there's something of interest there.
Note: WM would have been sooo much happier without the Errata.
I ignore the Errata on WM when I GM.

Now when I think about it, there really is no reason not to bodge in Barbarian into this...
I suppose the 3rd level in Ranger has to go, along with Steadfast Determination.
