Q 281. What kind of spells would you expect to be on/around a semi-temporary war party HQ? Old Castle Ruins. All Humans, highest arcane is probly 12th level. Alngmnt prbly.. n/e?

Disintegrate is always a crowd pleaser against the undead. You'd need to ask the guy running things what he thinks about this, but it "might" bypass the vampire's escape and recovery attempt. To be more accurate, it does, but plenty of people don't like this and try to talk their way around it, so you should find out if the DM is one of them.

A trace of fine dust does not have the Fast Healing Ex special quality, nor the Gaseous Form Su special quality. Doesn't have Deathless Frenzy either, so it's a good way of putting down frenzied berserkers that are only still on their feet because of that ability.

Wall of stone/wall of iron/fabricate should reinforce those ruins quite quickly. If possible, forbiddance/unhallow for blocking opponents coming in. Some bands might have automatic reset magic traps of magic missile (1k each) to serve as sentries. A couple of ghoul glyph or symbol spells, maybe.

Without knowing the composition can't really say that much more.

Sun Flash Pellet (Und; 6,000): Creates a sunburst effect upon burst.

A 283: As weird as it sounds, but he is right. You need an effective +6 at least to get through epic. However, if the subject is an outsider, the Bane makes the weapon effectively +7, and it gets through Epic.

The MM is very particular about the +6 enhancement bonus or greater. You're thinking of epic pricing, which can also be +11 or greater in total value.

Hmm, you are right. I read the wrong entry

So, yeah, I second the Bane thing. Nice part is that it saves you needing a +5 weapon, since a +4 bane qualifies.
