Palader Optimization
« on: December 01, 2009, 10:36:31 AM »
This is my first attempt at an optimized gish build.

Houserules

Races: We are playing with Pathfinder races.
Point Buy: All our stats start at 10 but one and we get 22 points to spend (Kinda like 4th Ed).
Feats: Every other level, No Leadership.
Skills: Able learner effect for free.
HP: Extra half HD al lvl 1.

The Build

Human Paladin 2/Sorcerer 4/Spellsword 1/Abjurant Champion 5/Sacred Exorsist 8

Vitals (No Buffs)

STR 26 (15 + 5 Inh + 6 Enh)
DEX 16 (10 + 6 Enh)
CON 20 (14 + 6 Enh)
INT 20 (14 + 6 Enh)
WIS 14 ( 8 + 6 Enh)
CHA 34 (16 + 2 Rac + 5 Lvl + 5 Inh + 6 Enh)

BAB: +25/+20/+15/+10
CL: 20 (18)
AC: 18
Fort: 34
Ref: 26
Will: 31
HP: 240

Feats

F1 (Shaky) - Power Attack
F2 (Vulnerable) - Law Devotion
Human - Open
1 - Combat Casting
3 - Practiced Spellcaster
5 - Extend Spell
7 - Arcane Preparation
9 - Open
11 - Arcane Strike
13 - Divine Might
15 - Quicken Spell
17 - Persistent Spell
19 - Open

I'm still planning on my feats, maybe I'll add some Tripping or something to increase the DMG, another route would be to go Aasimar+Alternate Spell Source+DMM Combo but my DM might kill me. Also if i somehow find a way to trade my familiar for something else i will be able to dump int and get a higher Cha.

CF & ACF

Pal 1 - Aura of Good, Detect Evil <-> Detect Magic (CoV Golden Lion Substitution Lvl), Smite Evil 1/Day
Pal 2 - Divine Grace :plotting, Lay on Hands
Sorc 1 - Summon Familiar <-> Metamagic Specialist
SpSw 1 - Ignore Spell Failure 10%
AbCh 1 - Abjurant Armor :plotting, Extended Abjuration
AbCh 2 - Swift Abjuration
AbCh 4 - Arcane Boost
AbCh 5 - Martial Arcanist
SaEx 1 - Exorcism, Turn Undead :evillaugh
SaEx 2 - Detect Evil, Resist Possession
SaEx 3 - Chosen Foe +1
SaEx 4 - Dispel Evil 1/Week
SaEx 5 - Consecrated Presence
SaEx 6 - Chosen Foe +2
SaEx 7 - Dispel Evil 2/Week
SaEx 8 - Holy Aura 1/Day

Spells

I don't have a list yet, though you can imagine some that are set in stone (Wraith Strike, Greater Luminous Armor, Polymorph, Bite of X).

Equipment

Only the Attribute Enhancers, Am of NatAr, Rng of Def, Cpe of Res, Weapon +1, Armor +1, a candle of invocation and some Nightsticks.

I'm open to suggestions.

I recall something about only prepared casters having access to sanctified spells RAW.

Cock! You are right, i'll have to buy armor then. Damn i didn't think Spellsword would end up being so important.

If you really want sanctified spells and have a feat to spare, take Arcane Preparation. It lets you prepare spells in spontaneous casting slots, letting you apply metamagic to them without increasing their casting time... or, yes, make use of sanctified spells.
It's all about vision and making reality conform to your vision. By dropping a fucking house on it.

Well between that and Metamagic Specialist i would have no use for Rapid Metamagic so i guess i do have a feat to spare.

Improved initative is always a good feat. You have the int score to take advantage of knowledge devotion. Obtain familiar/improved familiar is also good too. Minor shapeshift is a temporary hp battery.

Spell selection is the biggest thing. Try to cover most of your bases (buff, debuff, BC, utility, blast, multitarget, single target) and don't be redundant with your spell selection

Here's a quick list to get you started

1-shield, nervesketter, silent image, grease,
2-wraithstrike, glitterdust, web,
3-haste, ray of exhaustion, magic circle against evil, greater magic weapon
4-wings of flurry, greater mirror image, polymorph if allowed,
5-teleport, dismissal,
6-disintegrate, greater dispel magic,
7-limited wish, reverse gravity,
8-greater shadow evocation,
9-time stop

There's a few blanks there for spells you like.
