Jax walks in silently, his movements jerky as he follows the rest of the group.

The dark passageways through Jabba's Palace seem designed to fill visitors with dread and apprehension. Ambient light casts shadows through which things move secretively, some making clicking noises, others squelching wetly. Finally, the Twi'lek emerges into a large room filled with sentients of all description, arranged in some way around the large hoversled holding the massive Hutt himself. He leads you forward to a spot several meters away from the hoversled, on a vaguely ornate looking grate in the floor. Jabba eyes the group with what might be dubbed a typical Hutt stare. <Ahh, Chido. Back alive, I see...Your friends are silent. Modest, or in awe?> He chortles loudly, and the room's other occupants follow suit. Clearly, Jabba is not to be upset.
He's speaking Huttese, as an aside, so if anyone doesn't understand, now would be the time to get a translator.
Teela takes a step forward and addresses the Hutt in its native language.  <Mighty Jabba, we were told that you had work for us.  We have been attacked twice so far by those who wish to prevent us from meeting with you, which leads me to believe that this is a job of some importance.  I'm sure your generous fee will be satisfactory to my companions and I.  What would you have us do?>

<Ho ho ho! Chido, my boy, have you not told them? You are here to find the ambassador the Republic sent to meet me, and bring him back here so I may make my own deal with the Republic. I may even give him a discount for the trouble. Now, what do you need to know?>

Quickly relaying the information to the others, Teela continues with the business at hand.  <To start, we would need to know when he was sent, why he didn't meet you, and any other information related to this ambassador.>

"Teela, could you ask the mighty Jabba if there are any people or organisations he knows of that might want to boycot his meeting with the ambassador?

Is there a possibility the Separatists found out about this meeting?"

Jayce asks as he steps forward toward Teela and nods to Jabba as a sign of respect.

Sorry, but last time someone arranged a deal in Hutt for me I ended up running for my life from an angry Wookie, besides, I would wait until we were in an enviorment in no way connected to Jabba before applying a bit of the old Force to Teela's airpipe.

Torin begins to wonder how the Hutts evolved while waiting out the long and awkward silence.

<The ambassador was sent three days ago, or so the Republic claims. If he has not arrived, I doubt it is because of space sickness.

The Confederacy has been on poor relations with my clan since their little embarrassment at Naboo. It's hardly our fault we had to stop dealing with them, just good business. Legitimate ventures need to stay above the law, after all, despite what my other practices are. I suspect this was a way of taking revenge and making sure we didn't side with the Republic at the same time. I do not prefer one side to the other in this matter, but as the Confederation was already weakened, it was simply a matter of selecting whichever side offered the greatest advantages.>

Teela translates, then asks. <We shall look into this situation for you, great Jabba.  Is there any other information that you could give us that may be of use?>

<My informants have been strangely silent on this matter. I may have to kill a few of them to increase their work ethic. No matter. You may wish to look into the attacks you mentioned--there are several on-world corporations who might be responsible--or try hunting them down through some other method. If you happen to find the one responsible for orchestrating the plan, there's a little something extra in it for you. Just remember, no disintegrations.>
