Spell vs Maneuver saves.

The save DC for spells are 10 + 1/2 caster level + spell level. I find it strange that the primary casting modifier isnt in this equation (like with maneuvers). Why is this? I would it improve overall gameplay if this would be houseruled to work in the same manner? What do you guys think?

Assuming you are referring to D&D 3.5, the saves fro spells do, in fact, key off the caster's primary ability modifier. For example, from the wizard entry:

Yeah, I checked it.. you are right. I read the wrong info from some site, so nvm this.
