Edit: Wait... he's riding a giant skeleton? That probably puts him outside the grasp of black tentacles... unless I can conjure them in mid-air.
Kyx says "I wonder how good big and bony's reflexes are." and casts Grease, centered under the big skeleton that "the baron" is riding.

Don't worry, a one is not a critical fail for checks.

Don't you need to land a melee touch attack first?
I don't think so. It says every creature in the area must make an opposed grapple check or be grappled. It doesn't say anything about the tentacles having to make a touch attack. I think the idea is that there are so many tentacles that if you're in the area, then they're touching you.

I don't think I'm using that, anyway. He's up in the freakin' air.

Edit: Ninja editing, huh? :P

"You dare mock me and my beautiful puppets?! YOU SHALL PAY!!"

Waving the staff and pointing at the increasingly bigger ghast, the first gigantic skeleton opens its jaws. A black hole-ish energy gathers before it fires... at the ghast. It instantly vaporizes in a noxious black smoke - which fluctuates towards the Gashadokuro.

And then it gains horns. And big fangs. And a green tint to its bones. Its howl is now also much more intimidating than before.
And that means you guys get to roll Level + Wis versus its intimidate attempt.  :D

I look big and BAJEEZUS SCARY!! (1d20+18=23)

Oft-overlooked fact: Intimidate gets a +4 bonus per size category difference between the target and the active (-4 if the size is disadvantageous, such as a gnome trying to intimidate a troll).
I think pallies of freedom still get the immunity to fear - they just don't give the bonus to other people.

...
Oh, darn.  Not enchanting, mind effecting spell, ongoing control, or produced by a lawful creature, is it?  It's not a save, so I autofail with a +1 wisdom.

EDIT: Ack, that includes level.  Well, whatever.  I'm not exactly in melee with the guy (dunno how he's using it), but this is silly enough not to pass up.
Sabot flies back, looking away and shaking his sparkly left hand at the skelegiants.

Nooo!  I'm too hot to die!  Why don't you pick on somebody your own size.
Confusion.  DC 21, aimed such that it'll hit the baron and both skeletons - priority on the baron.
The skeletons, as well as the Baron, seem unaffected. Though you can't be absolutely certain as far as the Baron is concerned, the skeletons appear to be mindless, given that they don't do anything without the Baron's commands, while the Baron him/herself seems protected by something else altogether.

"You guys focus on the Gashadokuro! I'm going to handle the Baron."

With that said, Matsuko dashes upwards, unleashing a barrage of hell on the giant skeleton that the Baron is riding.
Yes, having two halves of different brains apparently protects you from mind-affecting stuff.

From this point onward, consider that Matsuko and the Baron are engaged in "cinematic mode". Kyx should be able to tell all of you that you're going to have your hands full just dealing with the first big guy.

In case none of you can tell, this is my way of getting the combat-capable plot exposition NPC out of the way so she doesn't steal all of your precious, precious XP.  :P
I am a chef, I fear not the bony leftovers! (1d20+13=25)

He jumps off his airlifter, grabbing a trio of chickens from his pocket by the legs and using their flapping wings to glide downward towards the overgrown pile of bones. At the last moment he lets go, falling downwards towards the Boner with his giant cleaver. "You, who has no tasty meat, cannot win!"

vs. Touch, 2-handed Power Attack, not a charge. (1d20+11=16, 1d10+25=27)
Guys are still undead, so my +4 Knowledge Devotion bonus is still up. ^^

Self: Alter Self: Crucian NA+8 (factored in)
Greater Resistance +3 Resistance to saves (factored in).
Lore of the Gods - +10 knowledge checks.
Expeditious Retreat - For running into/out of danger...after Haste expires.
Divine Bulwark(Ordained Champion) - DR 4/chaotic.

58 HP
28 29 AC with Haste (36 vs. AoOs due to movement)
Saves: +14/+2/+16
+4 racial vs. Paralysis, though the Alter Self might stop that.

DR 4/Chaotic and Resist Fire 20, Haste

Attack: Great Cleaver +15 +16/+16 vs. Touch, 1d10+15 damage, 2-handed (PA up to -5/+10) with Haste
It always seems like the barrels around here have something in them.

"Aww shiiiiiiii..."

Talon tries to fly around the terrible creature, scared out of his gourd but still composed enough to do what he needs to.
Do we still have haste up? Trying to figure out if my fly speed is 40 or 70 right now, as to whether I can also let off a breath or not. Of course, I don't remember how far away the thing is, either.
