: Kuroimaken June 15, 2010, 06:14:08 PM
Amusingly enough, the ghasts seem to be a little too preoccupied by the fact some crazy woman flew out of the barn and nuked their pretty little formation to notice Kyx's spellcasting, at least at first.

Eren will move 90ft past the crowd, revert to her natural form as a free action and use her breath weapon (20ft cone of cold, 2d8=8 damage (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2564430/)). She will deliberately provoke AoOs once she is in natural form - if the ghasts are close enough she'll just revert at the start of the round and move 20ft past them in her natural form.

Anything that hits her in her natural form must make a DC16 Reflex save or become stuck (grappled?).

Haste (+30ft speed, +1 attack/AC/Ref, one additional attack)

Well... technically I'd have to roll a grapple check (and damage) vs. every ghast in the area (a 20' wide radius)... How about we use a random distribution, and just say that so many are grappled, and take average damage, etc?

The grapple mod for the tentacles is +19, and they do 1d6+4 damage. The ghast's have a +5. I have a spreadsheet for opposed roll statistics, with an image of the graph output here: http://i1014.photobucket.com/albums/af269/PhaedrusXY/RHoD/opposedrollstatistics.jpg A difference in modifiers of -15 would only give each ghast about a 2.5% chance of succeeding. A -14 would be slightly better for them, with maybe a 5% chance. So how about we say one in 20 is not grappled, the rest get 7.5 damage and are grappled, and call it good? :P
Normally, he was the live-to-see-another day type. But behind him was a barn full of chickens - the one form of life that truly understood him and accepted him for who he was (and didn't mind being made into the occasional lunch meat)! He could not let them down now, nor could he let down the hungry masses who craved the delicatessens that chef-kind had to offer!

No, for the sake of natural food lovers everywhere, he would not fail!

Running forward into battle, he slashes with his giant cleaver at one of the ghasts that has been illuminated by one of his teammates, giving it a nice clean cut like he would do to any other meat-based lifeform.

"Forward, 'Knights of the Dinner Table!'" he yells in a loud voice.
Power attack charge vs. Touch AC (1d20+13=28, 1d10+25=26) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2567583/)
Hmm...either dead or close.
Yeah, it's basically keeping the ones closest to the door unable to actually do much. In case you didn't notice, breaking out is a better option than trying to outlast them...
And now for the part that's going to make me abso-freaking-lutely hate myself for placing this many opponents against y'all... the attack rolls.

None of which are made this round. Between Matsuko's carpet-bombing and Kyx's tentacle rape of doom, you guys have just about enough room to make a break for it. Eren is on fire, so the ghasts won't actually bother to attack her (they still took those AoOs by reflex. But they only managed to get themselves stuck anyway... and catch on fire).

May I suggest you run for your lives?  :D

"Looks like it's worse than we thought! I suggest..." Talon sighs, or makes the motion of it at the very least, "a tactical retreat. Use the space we've got to escape past them, and then make a break for it. Maybe we can slow them down enough to buy us some time. Still... I wonder how exactly they all knew to find us in here..."
Is there any way to estimate, now that the doors are open, how many are out there? Also, how much space is there between them and the doorway? I know the point of the first few combat maneuvers we've seen was to clear some space, but how much space is there? And which way are we going once we get out of here?

I'll post my actions once I know if it's even my turn... Seems Flay's been gone for a few days, so who knows when he'll get around to updating.
"So it has come to zis...so be it." Paul says, pulling a tiny bag off his belt and opening it. With a flick of the wrist, he throws it at the nearest group of Ghasts. "Special Attack! Fountain of Feathers!"

Out of the bag came 50 chickens (and an equal number of copper pieces), which started to run around like crazy. Using the confusion, Paul started to book it out of there.
I guess I wasn't explicit enough...

You know the farm had somewhere between 1000-2000 workers at any given time. I'm going to let that info sink in for a second.

You currently see ghasts as far as your magical senses can tell.

Now connect the dots.

Matsuko and Kyx are basically working in such a fashion as to allow you guys to run out in a straight line. Kyx is trying to keep the "sides" from spilling into the place by means of Evard's spell.

In addition, Paul's actions (on round 2) were disconcerting enough that the ghasts have a WTF stare on their faces, and pondering what the hell they're trying to nom on here.  :P
Round two actions (except Paul, of course). Assume Matsuko is mantaining the carpet-bombing so as to try and leave enough space for you guys to run. Of course, airlifting would be ideal, for those who can.
I can only carry 43 lbs. as a light load, and I'm assuming my jetpack works the same as most wing-granted flight, aka: can't fly with a medium or heavy load. If that's not the case, then I'll carry someone, but otherwise I'll assume there's not much I can do without being able to increase my strength
Talon shouts to the others, "I don't think I can carry any of you! You're going to need to make a run for it! I'll stay above and provide air support to keep ghasts off of you!"

Talon flies up high enough to stay out of range of ghast attacks, but close enough to reach with his breath weapon. As he flies above, he lets loose a continuous cone of thick, napalm-like flame, which sticks to the ghasts as he flies by.
Thank goodness for flyby attack!

I'll try to spit out gobs of 15-foot diameter entangling breath attacks.
1/2 breath damage:

Entangle Duration:
1d4(4) = 4 rounds (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2575029/)

All of my allies are immune to the damage and entangling effect.
The Message spell I know is a no-somatic component cantrip that allows you to "whisper" a message discretely to a companion with Line of Sight.

Also, it's fairly easy to surmise the ghasts are here to slaughter you all. You can see it in their crazed eyes.
With the party finally managing to dash ahead, the ghasts seem much less of a worry. If anyone would care to take a look back, they'd notice that the pile of corpses Matsuko left behind with the carpet-bombing appears to be... reforming. The destroyed pieces of the ghasts are floating of their own accord to a common center, creating a nightmarish creature of gigantic proportions made of the bits and pieces.

And then it starts stomping towards the flying party.

So what does the mega ghasterfuck do? (1d100=59) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2589614/)

Although unable to determine the exact source of its attacker, the ghast displays no end of courage as it turns tail and runs like a madman in the party's opposite direction, stomping, crushing and bowling over the other ghasts like so many pins in an alleyway. It seems to grow slightly larger as it does so, apparently because it adds the mass of the other undead trampled underfoot to its own.

As is costumary, the moment you all manage to practically touch the door to the reception center, the BBEG presents himself. Or herself.

In this particular case it does so by erupting out of the ground in a massive explosion of shattered soil, waving a staff and standing atop what looks like a giant Dia de Los Muertos skull.

The evil... person... wears body-concealing robes from head to toe, split in color at the middle vertically. The right side is a pink-ish shade of purple, and the left side is black.
You know, like this (http://www.collectiondx.com/gallery2/gallery/d/56154-3/17.jpg).
He... or she... speaks in a creepy voice like a man and a woman are speaking at the same time. Looking closely, half his face is female... or half her face is male.

"You nosy little bastards! I ought to strip the flesh from your bones for this interference. Curse you, Kab... I mean, random assortment of adventurers!!"

Zane simply starts loading his revolver and rifle fully, all with rune bullets, and slides a bunch more into the empty bullet-slots on his ammo belt. He snaps the revolving chamber into place, replaces it, and with the rifle in hand, finally looks up irritably. "Silence, cretins! Baron Ashura will not be spoken down to by the likes of you!"

Raising the staff into the air, the... person... cries out:

"Come to me, Kikaijuu Gashadokuro!!"

A gigantic skeleton emerges from the ground, its spine connected to the soil proper as though it cannot fully extricate itself from there. It plunges its hand into the ground, and pulls what looks like a huge femur from there. A reddish light flickers past its eyes as it roars away at the party.

Oh, and then the giant skull Baron Ashura had been riding also turns out to be a giant skeleton. This one has LEGS, though. And a BFS.

"...That's it. We're officially screwed." Is Matsuko's out loud thought.

Don't you need to land a melee touch attack first?
I don't think so. It says every creature in the area must make an opposed grapple check or be grappled. It doesn't say anything about the tentacles having to make a touch attack. I think the idea is that there are so many tentacles that if you're in the area, then they're touching you.

I don't think I'm using that, anyway. He's up in the freakin' air.

Waving the staff and pointing at the increasingly bigger ghast, the first gigantic skeleton opens its jaws. A black hole-ish energy gathers before it fires... at the ghast. It instantly vaporizes in a noxious black smoke - which fluctuates towards the Gashadokuro.

And then it gains horns. And big fangs. And a green tint to its bones. Its howl is now also much more intimidating than before.

The skeletons, as well as the Baron, seem unaffected. Though you can't be absolutely certain as far as the Baron is concerned, the skeletons appear to be mindless, given that they don't do anything without the Baron's commands, while the Baron him/herself seems protected by something else altogether.

"You guys focus on the Gashadokuro! I'm going to handle the Baron."

With that said, Matsuko dashes upwards, unleashing a barrage of hell on the giant skeleton that the Baron is riding.
Yes, having two halves of different brains apparently protects you from mind-affecting stuff.
So, assuming that Talon is within 70 feet of the thing within one move action, which is an easy assumption given Kuro's clarification, Talon's round will be spent flying/circling around the thing toward the back, and breathing an entangling blast for 7 damage (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2621406/) (DC 22 reflex for 1/2 that) and it is entangled for 4 rounds (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2621408/), and takes 6 damage (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2621409/) next round at the start of my turn.
Ghiktibur drops his companion safely and charges the skeleton.
Battle Leader's Charge on skellie: 1d20+18=21, 2d4+24=30 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2622443/), +1 from Haste, for a total of +22

Charge's total damage: 90 + 10 (Battle leader's charge - multiplied with the rest of the damage for 30?) + 6 (Leading the charge stance tripled - multiplied with the rest of the damage for 18?) = 106 (or 138 if tripling everything)

Edit: Oh yeah, let's not forget that tasty -11 to Ghik's AC  :rollseyes
First order of business, the initiative order.
Eren: 28
Ghik: 7
Fistbeard: 15
Talon: 14
Zane: 21
Kyx: ???
The Fay: ???
Paul: ???

I'm just going to randomly drop them into the initiative order somewhere. The big, nasty skeleton is 15 in that order, by the way. We're going to stick to it for now. Anyone who got random assignments on their initiative is, of course, free to actually roll it.

Sabot is 16, Kyx is 5, Paul is 8. See, Risada, you're not the last!
The skeleton that the Baron is riding is apparently either more deft than it appears, or its sheer size somehow prevents the puddle of Grease from actually making it slip. Either way, Kyx notices that his spell has gone unnoticed.
Mommy, it HUUUUUUUUUUUUURTS! (1d20+16=30, 4d6+16=32) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2632748/)
As both Paul and Ghiktibur make their respective rushes towards the Gashadokuro, the gruesome-looking skeleton fixes its darkened gaze upon the chef first, given his slight advantage in speed over the dragonborn. As such, it swings viciously in his general direction, the bone it uses for a club seemingly transmitting the brute force of the impact even past the crustaceous layer of armor that the chef is "wearing". It is easy to notice, however, that might as well have been a lucky swing - although for whom remains to be seen.

Coming up from behind, the barbarian's lance wedges cleanly into the skeleton's radial bone, making it shriek with what could not be construed as anything else but pain. Combined with his companion's valiant effort, it appears the two of them managed to harm the creature quite severely...
*grumble* I forgot that Eren went first so the AoO would've been aimed at her instead... not that it matters much.

Ew, this lady is STICKY! (1d20+22=42) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2635254/)
Yikes, Natural 20... Thank goodness that's not an auto-success on checks, eh? Don't forget that Eren gets a -2 penalty from being shaken.
...And then I check the Rules Compendium. Eren can't grapple the guy. He's Gargantuan and she's, at best, Large. Therefore, he's two size categories larger than she is, which means she autofails.
Comically enough, Eren's attempt at keeping the gigantic skeleton tied in one place results in him shaking her off like a sticky piece of candy. Talon's breath weapon proves more successful in this regard, hindering its movements more effectively.

Of course, one has to wonder whether it actually intended to move at all...

Has he lost his mind, can he see or is he blind? (1d20+10=27) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2639883/)
Please apply the entangled penalties manually, if any.
The skeleton seems to be quite distraught over its "predicament". On one hand, it just got its arm practically lanced through by the dragonborn - on the other, Talon's breath weapon is getting on its way. As it tries to decide who to mash next, Sabot's magic attempts to blind it. As it wipes some of the sparkling dust out of its eyes, it seems specially furious. However, because the half-fey is out of its reach, the skeleton seems to mind that which has given it the most pain thus far, swinging its massive bone-club at Ghiktibur.

With a swift, almost invisible brush of his hand, Zane replaces the crystal in the rifle's hammer-pocket with a bright blue, sparkling crystal, and cocks back a bullet into the chamber. The rifle whips up, nestled tightly into Zane's shoulder, as he takes aim. The moment the hammer pulls back, runes along the barrel start to glow blue, with some minor electrical sparks erupting along it's length; the distracting thing is the explosion coming from the barrel, blowback knocking a dust cloud behind Zane, as a shining blue bullet streaks in an arc towards the skeleton, a training bolt of lightning in its wake.

The Gashadokuro howls away. It doesn't seem particularly happy about the way it's being assaulted from all sides. It raises the massive club high and swings widely in an arc, attempting to sweep for whichever enemies it can.
It's our good old friend WHIRLWIND ATTACK! Or, at least something similar. What it really does is swing with one attack roll and check against each of your ACs, same damage to everybody. Kyx says "Good idea, Sabot. I have something better to drop on him, though." He mutters the words of a spell, and a tiny patch of cloth flies out from his hand to a height above the skeleton's head. Then he speaks another word, and the cloth grows into an enormous boulder and falls towards the giant creature.
I don't know how high up this skeleton's head is, or how high I can launch the shrunken boulder and still have it be within medium range (210 feet). So I'm not sure how much damage it will do. The weight alone is 18d6, though, with another 1d6 per 10 feet fallen past the first 10 feet. If this requires a ranged attack roll, here you go: 1d20+6=23 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2664132/)

Kyx can also move up 60 feet towards the skeleton if that will help him get into range.

Doesn't really matter if he intended to move. What matters is this: (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/conditionSummary.htm#entangled)

...and takes a -2 penalty on all attack rolls and a -4 penalty to Dexterity.

As the gooey napalm continues to burn away at the skeleton, Talon's eyes and throat begin to glow with a bright blue-white hue. The glowing spreads down engraved channels across his body, and the metal dragonborn tenses up, channeling energy for a larger attack. Suddenly, his limbs burst wide, and emitted from his mouth is a massive laser which burns through the air, carving up the giant skeleton's bones.

The force of the blast pushes Talon back 5 feet, and then the energy barrage ends.
4d6=14 damage (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2664167/), DC 22 Reflex for 1/2, and don't forget the 6 damage from the entangling exhalation (does not get halved). 3 more rounds of that after this one.
OKAY, since this round is taking forever and we only have one player who has yet to post his actions this round, I'm skipping him and getting on the next round. I've still got a ton of funny cameos and the show cannot stop.  :p
The barrage of attacks seems to make the Gashadokuro positively dumbstruck. Pieces of bone crack here and there, and it howls in what seems to be agonizing pain. Suddenly, it loses the greenish tint to its skeletal structure, and its eyes stop glowing. All would seem to be well...

Until, of course, a thick, blob-like black mist seeped out of its wounds. Covering the bones, which now have a sinister shade of slick onyx, its eyes flash for an instant before it opens its fanged mouth and begin to focus a reddish-black swell of pure energy.
Given that at least ONE of you is probably going to make the knowledge check DC, I'll tell you all straight away. It's building up energy to blow itself up. None of you know exactly how dangerous this could turn out to be, but given the size of the thing, and the fact it's most likely drawing upon necromantic energy, "one hell of a lot" seems like a fairly educated guess.
Seeing the eagle coming fast, Zane smirked an evil smirk, and heard the suggestion to fly. Also the suggestion to try and swap out Matsuko, who was engaged to the point of being un-liftable. Within only a few seconds, he had swapped out a bullet while a feint aura of gold emanated from him. Taking his aim, he pulled the trigger, muttering something sounding like "Yippe-Ki-yay, mother-fu" only interrupted by the burst from his rifle. As he plummets towards the ground like a metallic comet, Kyx says "I didn't want to do this, but you leave me no choice...

Get away from the skeleton." He tells his companions via the Message spell.

He reaches and tears off what looks like a robe made of patches, and tosses it out to the side of him.

Then as he falls past it, he casts Dispel Magic, centered on the patchwork robe.

Nine boulders and an enormous amount of molten lava immediately appear, all of which begin hurtling downward toward the giant skeletal time bomb like a great meteor shower. Kyx himself continues to fall alongside it, his iron face unreadable.
Since I wanted to be high enough for him to be able to cast a spell before he splats on the ground, he'd have to be higher than 200 feet up when he does this. So that's 36d6 damage per boulder that hits. Total immersion in lava is 20d6 per round, also, and having a bunch of lava fall on you from that height should hurt like hell just from the weight, I'd imagine... The lava takes up a total volume of 220 feet, and weighs about 40,000 lbs, for reference.

I'm not sure what kind of range (and other) penalties we're looking at on attack rolls for this. We're going to have to make it up, I suppose. :P

Attack (straight 1d20 with no modifiers, BAB, etc) and damage rolls for the boulders:
1d20=18, 36d6=122, 1d20=6, 36d6=132, 1d20=10, 36d6=128, 1d20=13, 36d6=130, 1d20=14, 36d6=115, 1d20=7, 36d6=125, 1d20=17, 36d6=137, 1d20=4, 36d6=127, 1d20=20, 36d6=129 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2697899/)

His ranged attack rolls should be at +8 vs. this guy normally (4bab+2dex+2KnowDevotion (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=8402.msg307799;topicseen#msg307799)).
To summate the experience: rocks fall, the giant black skeleton dies.

The long version: you know what it's like in cartoons when someone realizes there's a huge shadow above them, looks up and suddenly realizes something's about to fall down on them?

Let's just say the skeleton might have briefly remembered what it was like to have a digestive tract so it could crap itself.

Sabot manages to get away in the nick of time.

Meanwhile, Matsuko looks pretty exhausted from her own side of the fight. That's when something blazes off in the distance and you guys hear a distinctive theme song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nH0etoTshZ4) playing in the background.

As in, literally.

It's then you realize there are three guys in Japanese high school uniforms (http://cms7.blogia.com/blogs/m/mi/mig/miguel993/upload/20091119095954-ouendan18an.jpg) with red ribbons strapped to their arms cheering for the blaze off in the background. How or when they got there is anybody's guess.

The blaze in the distance twinkles, and falls down towards the giant skeleton the Baron is riding like a comet. A man's voice shouts out:

"Otokorashii Ryuu Kyuukoku Ougi: MUGEN PAAAAAAAAAAWNCH!!!"

The baron hirself flies off and lands a few hundred feet away from where there's now a crater in the ground.

And Matsuko sweatdrops. "Fuck. Fuck. FUCK! Of all the reinforcements they could have possibly sent me - THEY HAD TO SEND FUCKING MUGEN!!"

Surveying the damage from a distance, Talon produces a long whistling sound, despite the fact that you're all fairly sure he doesn't even have any lips. "Daaaaaaaaaaamn..."

In retrospect, all Talon really did, effectively, was fire a laser-pointer at the creature. Hardly effective except as a way of highlighting what's already there.

"Well... Now what?"

Oh great.  It's him.  Mu "Mr. Manly Muscles" gen.  A hero in his own mind, a boorish bruiser of unprecedented ignorance, leader by longwinded lectures, and probably not actually paying attention to anything other than the tone of my speech, assuming I'm just praising his virtues.  Look at that faraway stare.  He's probably composing his next heroic introduction with an internal monologue, and is completely oblivious to the outside world.

Zane was casually walking back over towards Matsuko, reloading his gun, and checking the rifle in general. The magelocks weren't supposed to have any issues post-firing, but if normal guns exploded after firing shots like that, he would want to make sure his was in top condition. After considering the Freudian connotations of his action descriptions, he asked, "So, is he alright, or do we shove a few rounds up his ass too? Man wearing that outfit, he'd probably enjoy it.

So, what do we do with the ugly tranny that just got knocked off it's massive bone?"

"Wherever innocents cry, I will be there to lend my shoulder! Wherever evil abounds, there shall be my fists of justice! Wherever--"

Mugen's speech is cut short by a grenade lobbed his way by Matsuko.

"CUT THE BULLSHIT AND HELP ME TAKE THIS ASSHOLE INTO CUSTODY!"

Coughing up smoke and looking comically burnt, Mugen replied, "Awww, don't be like that, Matsuko-chan! Loosen up! Put on a chainmail bikini like the other female adventurers! I know you've got a great p--"

A barrage of bullets flew his way, making the man dance in place.

"--alright, alright, I'll stop! Geez!!"

Mugen looked relatively tallish. He had long, wavy blue hair. His torso was naked, despite not displaying a muscle tone defined enough to justify it. Strangely, on his arms he wore black sleeves which ended in a pair of fingerless leather gloves. Upon his back was a massive blue cape with a stylized flame design on it. The cape's collar was high, not unlike a vampire's. He also wore a pair of dark blue hakama, the same hue as his cape, and a pair of steel-toed leather boots. At his waist were a pair of katanas - one with a white handle and green scabbard, and the other with a green handle and white scabbard. Over his right eye was an eyepatch with a skull motif.

"...would you be so kind as to lend me a bit of your attention?"

With that, Baron Ashura fired a black-purpleish ray of energy towards Matsuko's back. Apparently, she was so distracted by Mugen that she let her guard down.

"HEY YOU!! WE WEREN'T DONE TALKING!!"

With that, the eyepatch's skull opens its mouth with a ghastly moan, its eyes lighting up in red.

"Attacking a lady from behind is INEXCUSABLE! I will NOT stand idly by and tolerate this! WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?!"

The themesong picks up again as the trio of odd male cheerleaders pick up their pace.

Talon turns back toward Ashura, readying his laser blast for immediate fire.
I don't know if you planned for us to continue fighting this enemy or not, so I'm not actually doing anything, per se, but I'm ready to go if we are. :)
I know Mugen's annoying, but doesn't trying to kill him seem a little excessive...

On second thought, it really doesn't.

Ashura suddenly finds tentacles bursting from the surrounding earth, fusing together in an attempt to trap him/her. Eren stands over the Baron, apparently having realised that she is not going to explodify.
Charging touch attack: 1d20+12=25 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2703055/) - if it misses, assume Asura is held for a moment then breaks free
She frowns at Kyx. "Eren will wait for you to explain why you didn't do that earlier. Now... you said your name was Mugen?" :)

As the others lay into the perpetrator, Zane slowly walks up to the Baron, holstering the rifle and pulling out his revolver. As he got closer, having fully unloaded the gun, including the crystal, an evil smirk could be seen on his face. He loaded in a single bullet, put in what he decided was his most unsettling crystal, and snapped the gun back together violently. As he got to the 10 foot mark from the baron, he slowly raised it and stopped walking. "You don't wanna move anymore... Mind explaining the reasoning behind this? Just so we're clear..."

Ghik flies towards Ashura, and happens to hear Eren's comment.

"Eren will wait for you to explain why you didn't do that earlier.

"Missy, you must understand.... hiding the big guns until the end is classic! And if they happen to defeat your opponent, even more points for you! Now, to beat the remaining enemies... oh wait.... someone look after the lady..."

Eren rolls her eyes, then answers. "Easy."

The mass binding Ashura squeezes down it, covering the thing's mouth.
Full attack against Ashura, including -4 penalty for nonlethal damage, but against flat-footed AC.
Slams (magic, ghost touch) (1d20+11-4=9, 1d8+6+1=9, 1d20+11-4=11, 1d8+6+1=13) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2708496/)
Claws (magic, ghost touch) (1d20+9-4=6, 1d6+6+1=10, 1d20+9-4=23, 1d6+6+1=9) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2708502/)
Bite (magic, ghost touch) (1d20+9-4=23, 1d6+3+1=9) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2708509/)

Ashura cannot speak or breath, and Eren gets to remove one ring, amulet/necklace, headband, bracer, or belt from it each round as a swift action. Assume that she continues crushing/disarming Ashura each round until it falls unconscious.

EDIT: Actually, delay that one round. This round Eren will use her breath weapon on Ashura (paralysis 1d6+1 rounds, Fort 16 negates).
"And she looks okay to me." she says, glancing at Matsuko as she retracts the coccoon to settle on her back.

"...!!"

The Baron seems positively dumbstruck at the dogpile. It appears s/he wasn't expecting grapplers - as such, when s/he is bound, hir look of indignation is priceless.

The skies suddenly cloud over, and a gigantic visage of a wrinkled old man with blueish skin and very long white hair and beard appears.

"Ashura. You've failed me yet again."

"Please forgive us, Doctor Hell!!"

"SILENCE!!"

No less suddenly, Ashura suddenly evaporates in a noxious cloud of reddish steam, the smell of sulphur and blood suffusing the atmosphere. Only hir clothes and equipment are left behind...

"Damn it Mugen..." Matsuko struggles to get up. "While you were playing your hero routine, the bad guy slipped right through our fingers! Or... tentacles, as the case may be..."

As Kyx settles to the ground, and transforms back into the suit of armor he says "Does someone want to tell me what the hell is going on here? I think I've been away from civilization too long... None of this makes any sense at all!"[/green]

As wide-eyed as he can emote (which is to say, not very much), Talon says, "No, I don't understand anything going on either..."

The light channeling across his body dims down, and he touches down to the ground, the jet-fire extinguishing.

This all makes perfect sense.  It's just like that thing in Arcanetina a couple of months back.

Eren retrieves her singed tentacles in confusion, letting the Baron's gear fall to the ground. "Ow..."

She raises an eyebrow. "Must have been some party."

Sighing as she made an effort to stand up, Matsuko idly pointed to the fallen Baron's things. "I guess... we'll never catch him now..." She was visibly short of breath, and very, very pale.

"We need to report this to headquarters. They should be able to clean up this mess, provided the souls haven't been evaporated..."

"And Mugen, if you say a word, I swear to Dio that I'm going to make more holes in you than there are in 3.5."

Paul nods approvingly. "We could not save ze workers, but at least ze animals can be transferred to someplace where zey can be made into fine tender juicy morsels for consumption. A fine days work!"

As they head to the portal, the self-proclaimed 'Iron Chef' thinks A pity all the enemies were undead and thus spoiled meat. There were no sadly no rare ingredients here...I must continue my search.
Obviously, Paul has strange priorities as for what needed saving. And for some reason he thinks without an accent...
Given the extend of the outbreak, they'll probably just sell the plane to the lowest bidder and dive monster trucks through it until there isn't anything left.I am well aware I said dive and not drive there

Talon follows close behind, not stopping to realize that while he took damage, he doesn't feel sore or so much as weary. This mission was quite new to him, and full of many new and frankly overwhelming experiences. Nowhere near as simple as the petty crimes he used to perpetrate during his time in the Five Dragons gang. He was going to need to get used to the absurdity inherent to the life of professional adventurers, though something told him that may never happen.
