Come on, what else would it be?

My work
The tier system in a nutshell:
Tier 6: A cartographer.
Tier 5: An expert cartographer or a decent marksman.
Tier 4: An expert marksman.
Tier 3: An expert marksman, cartographer and chef who can tie strong knots and is trained in hostage negotiation or a marksman so good he can shoot down every bullet fired by a minigun while armed with a rusted single-shot pistol that veers to the left.
Tier 2: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything, or the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
Tier 1: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything and the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
What if we had 2 Wizards with 2 Floating Disks, hmm?

It's possible , but you're still using actions to guide the disk (you command it to move 15ft away from you, and he has to command his to move adjacent to him at all times). Either it forms an automatic loop, or you just achieved locomotion at a rate of both of your base land speeds/round.

It is too slow to work that way unfortunately.

At the very best, you might be able to make it go at your movement speed while hovering just over the ground and have it fall apart the first time it finds a pit trap, though it never makes clear how you'd direct it (what actions does it take to do so, for example?).  Not much of a taxi.  You really need Greater Floating Disk to do this right (a spell I've used that way quite a bit).  Of course, if you meant Taxi like the hand cart taxis, then it works fine... you walk around, and carry your familiar or your party members on the disk.  For this use it's good for making the big stupid fighter a bit quieter in his clanky armor (since he doesn't have to move while he's on your disk).

Yeah, I think this usage should be fine. It would allow you to bypass some kinds of traps (if the trapdoor of the pit trap doesn't open, it still counts as a "floor", right?), difficult terrain, etc, but you're not going to be doing any of it in a hurry.

A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

My DM allowed me to use it as levitate taxi for myself.

A DM might rule that way, but the lack of any listed direction mechanism makes it pretty much fiat at that point.
