So a friend of mine is playing a dungeoncrasher 6/lion totem barbarian 1 with knockback and needs 1-2 level dips before taking deepwarden.
Before I give bad advice I wanted to doublecheck if what I am suggesting is legal.

Q 239: If he takes some warblade levels and get battle leaders charge, could he then still pounce on his charge in that round? And could he still use knockback for bull rushes with those attacks?

Not sure on that, as per RAW. We don't allow it in our games, and I think it's not legal. What I would suggest Warblade as an option even so, other options are Totemist 2, Incarnate, Feat Rogue 2. Another option is just 3 more levels of Fighter (or 4...), to get the final Zentharim Fight sub. level - that's worth 3 levels.
Quote
Because strikes allow for a specific form of attack,
you cannot benefit from spells or effects that grant
you extra attacks when making a strike (such as the
haste spell or a speed weapon). You are not taking a
full attack action when you initiate a strike, even
if its initiation action is 1 full-round action. In
addition, you cannot combine special attacks
such as sunder or bull rush with strikes, even
if you have feats that make such special attacks
more potent. However, some strikes enable you
to make special attacks as part of their initiation;
see the specifi c maneuver descriptions in Chapter
4 for details.
The way I understand it is, that I take a fullround action for the strike, which lets me do a charge. And at the end of the charge pounce could trigger, because it lets you make a full attack after a charge and not an additional attack on a fullattack like haste or speed weapon. And on those full attack hits I could make knockbacks, trips, whatever, but not on the chargeattack, because it is the maneuver strike.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.  I see it as this.

A: Pounce grants a Full Attack on a charge
B: Maneuver has you charge
C: Knock Back lets you initiate a Bull Rush with each attack, should you choose.

I don't see any reason why the three can't be combined perfectly well.

Q240:  I'm looking to make an entomanthrope, but honestly most of the vermin in MMI are pretty weak compared to animals of similar size & HD.  Are there any powerful vermin scattered in some splatbook that make the template worth it?

Best I can think of are the Snow Spiders in Frostburn (Spring Attack as a bonus feat and Tremorsense + low HD and decent stats).

Nice. Do they have a burrow speed? That would make a great set-up for a "mole".

Sadly no.  They do have a Climb speed, a +20 bonus on Jump checks, +4 on Hide, +8 Spot, a poison with paralysis for secondary, and great Dex boosts (+8 on all sizes, Str and Con vary).  Oh, and Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat and a free +2 on Charge attacks if they jump (hint: no reason not to).  And Dex to Jump and Climb if you like.

How about that cockroach from Sharn:city of towers.  The one that uses people as a skin and walks around.

...

can't recall if it's a vermin, but if it is that would be cool.

Just checked.  The Roach Thrall is an Aberration.  But it is 3 HD, +2 LA.  Might actually end up being an interesting alternative to entomanthropy.

Sometimes, their tits (3.5) get enhancements (houserules), but that doesn't mean people don't like nice tits.

Should do Rancid Beetles.  Too bad they're only found in swarms; they can animate corpses and create more swarms.

Another idea is using a Hairy Spider (+0 LA, Mindless) that becomes a Construct through class levels, such as by Green Star Adept. If you dislike the shape, it can be fixed with various shape-changing means.
