This flaw looks hilarious, but I think it is definitely of questionable balance... It provides several quite good benefits, and also a bonus feat, and no real drawbacks other than funny RP stuff. I think it would certainly be funny for my character, though. :D

This would also be hilarious... if we made the "food" be a common PC race, like halflings. :D

This would be very funny for our resident ghoul.  :lol

Generic status update: I'm looking at different homebrew magic systems, I want to play something really different.

Yes, I realize the irony that I pushed for the creation of this thread and I still don't know what I want to play.   :P

Yeah, that's not terribly balanced. Sleep immunity, auto-detecting anything out of the ordinary, healing, sleeping in medium and heavy armor without fatigue, and a bonus feat at what cost?

Exactly. Maybe we could come up with a balanced version, because I do think it would be funny to fall asleep randomly all the time.

Yes, he will have a bite attack. I was thinking if it was extreme enough that he'd probably "break out" just from touching them, or maybe even being near them.

The one where you have an extreme allergy to water is also really funny, but that could be such an extreme penalty that I'd definitely want to discuss that with you before hand. Otherwise, if we start out in a rainy climate I might not even live to see the first encounter. :P

I also considered just having a fear of bodies of water, which would make some sense as drowning is one of the ways to overcome regeneration. It also makes me think of Bruce Willis' character in Unbreakable... which was a fkn awesome movie... But that might not be enough of a penalty, either. We could expand it a bit to include any body of water at all, even if it is only an inch deep. After all, it is possible to drown in a shallow pool, and it's not like it's much of a hindrance to have to walk around puddles.

Hey, do whatever you want. I just thought it was a funny flaw, like a lot of the others on that site.

Damn... now I need to add TWF to my guy ASAP... Hmm... maybe I should get a pair of those Gloves of the Balanced Hands... Would those grant me the homebrewed version that progresses with BAB? :D

Hmm... although due to the wording change, that version would also apply the -2 penalty to his natural attacks. It would also just let me use TWF (including iterative attacks) without the feat for a -2 penalty to all attacks, though...

I wasn't going to pressure you into picking something. :P

If you're still taking people I'd like to do something weird.  Real weird.  Like a Half Celestial Giant Spider, or an Awakened Dire Pig, or just plain bizarre.
However I have the feeling going for high weirdness would leave me a bit sub-optimal...
I don't like to DM for more than 5 people at a time...things get crowded. :( Sorry, bhu! I'll be playtesting some of your material, though.

Edit: I'm curious, what's the party alignment going with?  Doesn't seem to be good with our doom cultist.   :P

I'm not sure. I could go in a lot of different directions, but probably LN or LE.

I was curious if it was N or E.  I'm considering making a Necronomist but that would involve so much work...

I'm TN actually.

Sarai doesn't exactly see why euthanizing this damn, dirty world is a bad thing.

Plus, the forces she follows are alignment-less. You gotta remember that she'll never be intentionally evil.  :smirk

On a strange note, would anyone be put out if we had a post about people or events we can spare a thought for, or if its within their creed, a prayer for? Just a random thought, but ... hells I wouldn't have known about either Archangels daughter or Saeomons niece if I didn't happen to be on these threads.
Sounds fine to me.
probably over on "Off-topic".
might want to put a little disclaimer in the first post.

This is the Min/Max board. We should be able to figure out a way to optimize the POWER OF PRAYER(TM) that doesn't involve "Pazuzu, Pazuzu, Pazuzu".

Yeah, we'll go ahead and say Two-Weapon Fighting lets you make as many attacks with your off-hand as you could make with your main-hand.

Also, I've updated the main post with questions that have arisen in the thread.

Hmm, I need to decide if I want to play a Truenamer or a Lexeme...thoughts?

I'm leaning more toward the Lexeme (since I'm not interested in any of the PrCs so it'll be straight classed all the way) and I like it better.  However, they don't get Recitations which means I'll never be sure if my Utterances are going to work on our enemies.

That variant actually gives everyone all of the "normal" TWF feats for free (the "base" penalty is only -2, and you get iteratives with your off hand, but only 1/2 str damage as normal), but no longer allows you to get sneak attack dice on your off hand attacks. The actual feat lessens the penalties by 2 and gives you more options (basically rolls TWD and something else into it as a tactical feat). So it's a pretty radical departure from the core rules.

Bozwevial, is there any problem with having an arbitrarily large number of wands of low level spells (specifically Lesser Vigor)? Phaedrus's rules seem to indicate so, but I want to make sure. I'm used to running with games where NI healing out of combat is sort of taboo, but it doesn't seem to be as much so in this community.

Hmm...I think we'll go with that, then. It makes things easier on everyone.

Nah, there won't be a problem with that. There are plenty of easy ways to heal up out of combat already.

Mmm...I think +5 sounds like a bit much for a penalty that small to a lot of skills you don't care about. Does +3 sound reasonable?
