Those are feats from Blood and Relics. I believe I wrote "the following feats". He's gonna be taking the feats just like regular feats (they are regular feats).

+2 for Ghost? I guess that sounds ok.

Ah, I see the mention of "feats". My bad.

Yeah, I'd do 2 and see how he looks. 3 might make sense, but it might be too penalizing.

:)

I think I'll rule LA+2, and adjust if necessary, as you suggested. Thanks, Elenssar.

Edit: Any thoughts on possible classes?

I'm thinking either Dedicated3/FieldOfficerX, or a more combat oriented build Strong/ArchaicWeaponsmaster/Soldier[changing the PFP prereq to AWP instead].

I would say..

Damn. Depends on what fits.

I wish I hadn't gotten rid of my d20 Modern book (too many books, so when moving...)

If you have any idea where to get a (free) pdf or the like to look at (I'd rather not go looking for a hard copy and spend the excessive amount books cost if I can avoid it.), that'd be great.

But on the Templar...

Go for combat oriented. Though a couple Dedicated levels would be very fitting.

Just grab the MSRD. I rarely use the books (since they aren't mine, but the youth club where I GM) at all, preferring the MSRD.
You can find it at Wizards.com, or use the online version here:
http://www.d20resources.com/

Edit: The Field Officer AdC is in d20 Future and the Archaic Weaponsmaster is in Urban Arcana. Both are in the MSRD.

The Field Officer is technically more combat oriented than AW or Soldier, having a full BAB. We do use a different, split BAB system. But BAB wise, the Field Officer is best (also in our system).

Then I'd go for Strong/Dedicated/Field.

"Weapon master", as skilled as the Templars were, seems to be not quite the right direction.

What do you mean by split BAB?

But is there really any Strong Hero talents that would fit a Templar? I mean, Melee Smash isn't as Templar-ish as Faith, is it?

Honestly?

...

Not really. What the Templars were were highly combat adept Dedicated heroes.

So Dedicated/Field.

I'd like to say something else, but nothing seems fitting. Dedicated/Soldier/Field might not be bad, if playable.

So basically, Ranged BAB and Melee BAB are different? Sounds good.

Yes, we have used it for almost 6 months now, and it really makes a difference.

Hm. No. They were excellent swordsmen, but by experience, not obsessiveness.

I am not sure about "better leaders", irritatingly...they lead by setting such good examples.

As stated, they were really basically Dedicated Heroes with a lot more combat ability.

All right, that seems to fit Dedicated/Field Off pretty well, at least as a start - he can always take other classes later.

Yep. If there were any Fighter-like classes (as in bonus combat feats, as opposed to weapon-focused), I'd advise at least a little in those.

But this should work very nicely. Be sure to share the sheet.

If I know my players, it's gonna take a while before they are ready to enter the game with their new characters again.

And yea, a bonus-feat-Fighter-class would be useful in d20 Modern, but I think it's fun to create fighter/warriors without the Fighter class.

I'll post the char, all right. :D

---

Currently working on a Dark Heresy campaign for WH40k, so I won't have loads of time to work on my d20 stuff right away - but if you guys have any ideas for the break-and-enter to get the 'Golem Manual' from Dr. Zepper, please do post - I'm kinda lost and idea-less.

Edit: Kurt Baessler solo'ed through that part with roleplay only, pretty well played actually, especially since he isn't normally a 'let's talk things over' -guy. We're now about to parachute onto the Zeppelin filled with Ghouls.

Oooo, Dark Heresy. Tabletop or online?

And agreed on fighter/warriors without Fighter. It's just that can be a convenient thing to work from, when some of the specialized classes don't fit perfectly.

Dark Heresy pen & paper roleplaying game. Not the 40k Tabletop wargame, and not an online game.

Offline. I normally play a PC in the group, but now the GM would like me to run an adventure.
