These Proficiencies
This system proposes each non-tier 1 or -tier 2 classes starts proficient with all simple and martial weapons, all non-exotic armors, and all non-exotic shields.

Explanation
From a balance standpoint, this seems right.  I know it goes against some character concepts- Why is the Bard auto-proficient with a greatsword?- but it's a small step to let non-casters keep up with casters.

Proficiencies aren't that big a deal.  They're things you get with your class, and a 1 level dip into Fighter or Crusader already grants these proficiencies.

Hood - My first answer to all your build questions; past, present, and future.

Speaking of which:
Don't even need TO for this.  Any decent Hood build, especially one with Celerity, one-rounds [Azathoth, the most powerful greater deity from d20 Cthulu].
Does it bug anyone else that we've reached the point where characters who can obliterate a greater deity in one round are considered "decent?"

Doesn't change anything. In fact, giving everyone all weapon proficiencies hardly changes everything. That includes exotic weapons. The best a weapon can grant is an extra 3 or 4 damage, a pitiful bonus to a combat maneuver and at best reach.

Exotic weapons are pointlessly overpriced.

Really only the spiked chain is worth the feat for EWP.

Monster Manual 2, iirc.
[spoiler]Fighter: "I can kill a guy in one turn."
Cleric: "I can kill a guy in half a turn."
Wizard: "I can kill a guy before my turn."
Bard: "I can get three idiots to kill guys for me."

On a strange note, would anyone be put out if we had a post about people or events we can spare a thought for, or if its within their creed, a prayer for? Just a random thought, but ... hells I wouldn't have known about either Archangels daughter or Saeomons niece if I didn't happen to be on these threads.
Sounds fine to me.
probably over on "Off-topic".
might want to put a little disclaimer in the first post.

This is the Min/Max board. We should be able to figure out a way to optimize the POWER OF PRAYER(TM) that doesn't involve "Pazuzu, Pazuzu, Pazuzu".

Etherblades are in MM2 in the Ethergaunt section (it's one of their racial specialty weapons). 1d10 damage melee weapon (and I think it's a double weapon, too). You can also use it as a ranged touch attack to deal 1d6 force damage, but it only has 50 charges of this before it dies out. As previously mentioned, that's on a completely non-magical item.

What about the gnomeish quickrazor? (For Ij focus builds(factotum))?

No need for EWP there if you're a Whispergnome, as Complete Warrior lets you trade your proficiency in the worthless Hooked Hammer for the Quickrazor.  But on a Human it's worthwhile.

There's a few builds where EWP is actually useful, but they're somewhat rare and generally only need one specific weapon.  Hand Crossbows, Halfling War Sling/Skip Rock, Awl Pike, and a few others come to mind as being useful.  That's about it.

How about... all T3 and below that *goes on an adventure* are proficient in every single weapon, shield, armor, or anything like that, ever? Exotic, Martial, Simple?

IE, if they are T3 and below and have the PC halo, they are proficient in whatever they pick up.
