Factotums make awesome caster-killers if you can swing the anti-detection aspects of things. They're a partial-caster, a skill-monkey, and an awesome gish all in one.

The anti caster. Its from one of the MMs, and it gives, among other things, complete immunity to divination-style effects.

Won't help. Divinations are used to know what versatile opponents will accomplish. They are still one trick ponies, so no knowledge or foresight is required. Not to mention that the anti caster would have to set several levels on fire.

Lemme elaborate a little bit... This is working from a non-TO perspective (ie, that both characters are asking the DM questions with CoP, and that the real person has to answer).

You have to have Mindblank so that the Mage's Contact Other Plane can't target you.
You have to not know that you're about to kill the Mage so that they can't ask CoP "When will I be killed" and expect to get a real answer from a DM.
You have to have AMF up to get rid of Celerity nonsense after round 1.
You have to be continuously casting / using CoP so that you catch the mage in the 20 minutes or so that he isn't under Mindblank so that he can ask questions about "When will I be attaacked" etc.

I've argued that a caster cannot benefit from both Foresight and Mindblank up at the same time. The alternative is to Shapechange into a Dire Tortoise and have enough duration for it to last 24 h (which is doable).

The ultra-paranoid Wizard does not have a happy life, though.

Well, the not paranoid anything doesn't have a long life. Point? In a world that threatens to end every few months, there's not a whole lot to enjoy. And with all the crazy ass mother fuckers out there, it is threatening to end every few months.

Also, Mind Blank doesn't have any duration gaps.

It does. If your target has Mind Blank, it foils asking direct questions via CoP, right? So usually, the caster asks when something will affect their person... except... if the caster has Mind Blank up, it can't answer questions w.r.t. itself via CoP because Mindblank foils CoP.

Mindblank also foils Foresight. It foils all divinations. Can't be selective about the ones that others are using against ya. So Mindblank has to go down to use CoP properly. If you can't ask about the victim, nor the offender, there is no way to make CoP work.

Even a sane interpretation of Mindblank foils CoP, since it is the very definition of "information gathering".
