Catgirl Builds
« on: November 02, 2010, 04:19:14 AM »
This is a thread for catgirl builds, i'd recomend either use the race below or the catfolk from races of the wild (Are there other cat-like folk? Lycantropes don't really count). By the way the X to Y thread missed race cat (and any derivatives such as antomorphic cat) :P

Carnivore has his pixies (Petals are just plain better), but we will always have our catgirls.

Quote from: Savage Species; Antromorphic Cat
+1LA
small monstrous humanoid
-4 str
+2 dex
+2 wis
favored class rouge
racial feats; Weapon finesse
SQ: darkvision 60, low-light vision, scent
+4 racial bonus on Climb, Hide*, and Move Silently checks
+8 racial bonus on Jump checks, Balance checks.
They use their Dexterity modifier instead of their Strength modifier for Climb and Jump checks.
*In areas of tall grass or heavy undergrowth, the Hide bonus rises to +8.

Dex and Wis bonus along with the skill bonuses make for a fairly obvious Swordsage build, but check this one out;

3 Cleric (Time, ???) (Spontaneus caster variant)
1 Warlock (Glaivelock)
1 Swordsage
2 Eldricht Disciple (Wild Frenzy)
1 Swordsage (pick up Assasin's Stance)
2 Eldricht Disciple (?Protective Aura?)
10 Swiftblade

for 16 bab, and 10/12/19 saves. Granted Eldricht Glaive has the problem of only allowing full round attacks, and unfortunatly and eldricht blade is not a Shadow Hand style weapon (see if you can convince the DM otherwise, Shadow Blade on it would be sweet and not OP in this build)

You have some wis based casting, wis to AC and a greater invocation, as well as a ranged option that most ToBers lack. and everything is hitting touch AC. Need some way to get more domain spells per day, so i took the spontaneous divine caster variant option but i'm sure the boards have a better idea on how to make this build worthwhile. We are also going to be hurting for more haste spells.

But as it is this is a simple and playable build I would have no hesitation setting before a newby since not much can go wrong once spells/manuvers/invocations are chosen and it's not complicated.

Aqua regia is a powerful acid capable of dissolving noble metals such as gold, silver, and platinum. If made into a trap, it would easily strip a high level adventurer of many of his magical items, such as rings, amulets, girdles, and etc.

I suppose you wouldn't count hengeyokai or tibbit either.

Aren't the ears mostly just flavour? Heck, an elf fits pretty well.
Shifters seem to be treated as genki kawaii nekomimi desu~ a lot for some reason.

wouldnt an Awakend Cat be a little better:

Size: Tiny
Speed 30'
-8 Str,+4 Dex,+2 Wis
2 HD Magical Beast(d10, Fighter BAB, Good Fort and Ref saves)+4 racial: Climb,Hide,Move Silent
+8 racial Hide in Tall Grass or Heavy Undergrowth

I think they count. Lycantropes don't count because it's really a template not a race.

neat, didn't think about that. Hit dice are a problem though.

And solo, the catfolk race gets a boost to dex, cha and land speed, sounds like an excelent ray sorcerer to me, could you provide a sample build that takes advantage of the catfolk qualities?

Reminds me of a character I was going to play for a gestalt PbP. Her race was, if I remember correctly, Anthropomorphic Magebred Warcat (the DM allowed me to give a cat Warbeast, even though they don't qualify.)

Technically, it's still only a +1 LA. But look at the racial traits:

Small Size
Speed 40ft
+1 Strength
+4 Dex
+5 Con
+0 Int
+4 Wis
+0 Cha
And +2 to one Physical Stat (possibly Dex)
+2 NA
Also you get your choice of:
+10ft Speed
+2 NA
+4 On survival for tracking

[spoiler]Fighter: "I can kill a guy in one turn."
Cleric: "I can kill a guy in half a turn."
Wizard: "I can kill a guy before my turn."
Bard: "I can get three idiots to kill guys for me."

On a strange note, would anyone be put out if we had a post about people or events we can spare a thought for, or if its within their creed, a prayer for? Just a random thought, but ... hells I wouldn't have known about either Archangels daughter or Saeomons niece if I didn't happen to be on these threads.
Sounds fine to me.
probably over on "Off-topic".
might want to put a little disclaimer in the first post.

This is the Min/Max board. We should be able to figure out a way to optimize the POWER OF PRAYER(TM) that doesn't involve "Pazuzu, Pazuzu, Pazuzu".

That'd be chemistry, though I applaud the killing.

Pirhanic acid makes for a better trap.

I'm working with the stuff right now, actually, cleaning some glassware before making some magic...

You know, I asked every chemistry-teacher I had for 6 years if I could make that stuff (that and gunpowder). Almost every class with them for six years and the the best I was allowed to do was play with some phosphoric acid... I am so jealous right now

Did you at least get to mix hydrogen peroxide with potassium iodide? Or burn ethyne?

Yep, some detergent in the mix adds to the fun

I didn't start working with it until after my PhD, so I'm not surprised.  Doubt they even knew how to deal with it.

There's nothing really scary or exciting about the stuff.  Just have a sink turned on nearby.  Almost nothing we work with in the lab can melt someone's face like Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Yeah, they don't let you start working with that till you get a security clearance.  :D ;)

I'm not surprised, still, it is the idea of having an acid strong enough to dissolve gold is kinda overwhelming. I did however make some explosives outside of school so I managed. And for the record, I never blew up something that belonged to someone else and I read up on the stuff I was making beforehand

Can you call aqua regia "an acid"? It's a mixture of two acids.
EDIT: That medal story on the Wikipedia page is awesome.

I made it by accident once, and dissolved the gold on some gold-sputtered slides I was trying to clean. :D I forget what the acid mix I was supposed to use was (maybe sulfuric and nitric? or sulfuric and hydrochloric? /shrug), but I went from memory and mixed nitric and hydrochloric instead. When I came back a bit later I was puzzled what had happened to the gold on my slides. :P
