Hi there, I was wondering what some of the cheapest and earliest effects and wondrous items and such for an artificer to get some amount of resistance to scrying effects or enchantment effects or things like that or mindreading stuff?  Think of a poor man's Mind Blank, to be active for as long a period of time each day as possible.  What are the cheapest and most economical ways to do something like this?  I'm really curious about this! Thanks!

Protection from Evil blocks the dangerous effects, and if you don't mind dumping wisdom and two feats, you can just take Deformity(Madness) in Elder Evils.

Alternative methods include large amounts of lead.

About that. Don't.
Read, every day, something no one else is reading. Think, every day, something no one else is thinking. Do, every day, something no one else would be silly enough to do. It is bad for the mind to be always part of unanimity.

Sentinel's Watch is a lvl2 sor/wiz spell from PGtE that gives +5 competence bonus to Will saves vs enchantment and illusion effects for hours/level.

How could I forget about that one?! It's a great spell.
There's also Disobedience (CS) at 3rd level, which is more powerful. For anti-scrying, use Nondetection (PHB).

Feytouched 0/ Half-fey transition.  Immunity to enchantments for +1 LA.
Similarly, Jaebrins (MMV) get immunity to enchantments for +1 LA.
It's all about vision and making reality conform to your vision. By dropping a fucking house on it.

+1 for Nondetection. It's also 3rd level and hours/level.

Well with the lead poisoning thing just means that they will have to cast neutralize poison on themselves once every few days, right?  Does lead presumably scan positive with Detect Poison?

INSANE DEFIANCE!

Craft a Ring of continuous Protection from Evil. You get a decent deflection bonus, and shrug off the nastiest of the effects.

Other than Nondetection for scrying, aren't there a number of things from here and there that, instead of stopping scrying, either delay it, alert you to the presence of scrying, or give a specific false reading?  How about to ward a room or an area?

What specifically works against mind *reading* rather than just mind *control*?

And what about low level wondrous items that help, rather than things that help via spells, which would presumably go on one time use scrolls until the character can make eternal wands?

Consider picking up a Deathglance Locket. It's just 3,860 gp and allows you to hit someone who's scrying on you for 10d6 damage once per day.
