Changing desktop resolution in Vista.
« on: September 19, 2010, 01:43:02 PM »
Is there a way to keep my shortcuts on my desktop in the same order when I change my resolution from 1280*720 to 1024*768 and back again? The problem is that I have an old game that only runs in 1024*768, but I hate it when my shortcuts are messed up.

Thanks in advance!

Yes and No. If you have any that would be out of the smaller resolution range they will automatically be moved to the first available spot. So the solution is to place your icons within that range otherwise windows will move them for you every time. On alternative may be to see about running the game in a window, some allow it but it probably won't, and that would leave your desktop alone.
