Eh, CL of about 100 fives me a nice Node Level.

And, yes, it is true that you are nigh invulnerable, even without immortality.

Again, as I said before, Red Wizards are designed to challenge a level-equivalent group of PCs.
[spoiler]Fighter: "I can kill a guy in one turn."
Cleric: "I can kill a guy in half a turn."
Wizard: "I can kill a guy before my turn."
Bard: "I can get three idiots to kill guys for me."

On a strange note, would anyone be put out if we had a post about people or events we can spare a thought for, or if its within their creed, a prayer for? Just a random thought, but ... hells I wouldn't have known about either Archangels daughter or Saeomons niece if I didn't happen to be on these threads.
Sounds fine to me.

might want to put a little disclaimer in the first post.

This is the Min/Max board. We should be able to figure out a way to optimize the POWER OF PRAYER(TM) that doesn't involve "Pazuzu, Pazuzu, Pazuzu".

Here's a neat trick :

Take a lowly 1st level spell from SpC, Hail of Stone.  Emulate it from one of the 22nd level Shadow Miracles of my Shadowcraft Red Wizard (Sanctum Spell+Earth Spell+Circle Magic ftw!) for automatic 220% reality, and fire off Reserves of Strength to uncap it.  We're at (current version is sitting at a level 12 Node I believe, and a final CL of 150 something...we'll say 150 after RoS) 150d4*2.2=330d4*1.5 empowered for free (thanks Circle Magic!)=445d4 effectively.  Average damage of 890...Rocks fall, you die!  Now, lets have some fun with it.  We're a proper SCM, and packing a constant Collar of Umbral Metamorphosis, giving Shadow spells a maximized effect for free.  1780 damage.  Twinned?  3560 damage.  Sculpt it now.  And Widen it.  40' radius sphere of death!  Rocks fall, everyone dies!  No save, no SR.  Still not done.  Remember that node level?  We're at +5 metamagic right now.  A regular wizard can do this (granted, far less damage, but doable) without Circle Magic or anything else.  But we like our No Save Orbital Bombardment <3  Now chain it.  Hi, I'm DM NPC X!  ROCKS FALL, EVERYONE DIES! now has stats :P  You can literally take out every deity in Deities and Demigods if they were on the battlefield together.  From a single Shadow Illusion that most likely began life as a cantrip.

Sure Hail of Stones is No Save/No SR but wouldn't the Shadow Illusion version get both, Will Save for % and SR?

The will save wouldn't matter, as that just makes it more real than real, but the SR might. Of course... with Earth Spell, that probably won't matter either, unless you're using it on a golem. :P

That's a possibility...but then again, even 450d4 effectively as just a base conjuration will seriously give someone a bad day.  That's an average of 900 unresistable damage with twice the area of a fireball before chaining.  Also, SR isn't an issue anyhow.  As for the will save...my particular build abuses taint with the Ritual of Affiliation (whatever it's called, to get the [Evil] subtype and suffer no ill effects for having a high taint score) for DC's of 120+spell level, or DC 141.

EDIT : And we still have the capability of casting the real one on golems, who get boned just as badly as other mooks :D

Irresistible spell: a metamagic from kalamar, before such things as "metamagic slot reducers" had been conceived.  +4 slot adjustment, two crappy feats as prereqs.

Stick it on a spell that allows a saving throw.  Now it doesn't.

Of course, the fact that the book is sort of marginal, even though it's WotC published, means that too much cheese from it can banish it beyond the outer rim of "stuff disallowed".

Reserves of Strength from Dragonlance? I read that to mean you can only uncap the damage up to 3 CL above normal?

I dunno what you're complaining about.  You had your chance to cast an uncapped chained scholar's touch and didn't take it.

You know what would also be hilarious as a build? Wizard/Red Wizard/Shadowcraft Mage(using the adaptation section for a non-gnome entry)/Master Transmographist. Retrain Wizard as Red Wizard (only have 5 levels of Red Wizard), grab Silent Image as a Favored Spell, and have one of your Favored Shapes be a Spell Weaver.

Infinite Variety into a Hecantoncheires (however you spell that), for 100 arms.

Since a Spell Weaver's Spell Weaving ability states that it's based of of their 6 arms, it could be argued that you can now cast 100 spell levels simultaneously...

Grab immunity to Fuse Arms, and go and kill everything.
