It's not really easy to believe someone that just wants to use you... Granted, some guys do genuinely want to have an actual relationship, but most that I've known just want to bone.
That is because those guys that want an actual relationship tend to be the quiet, shy ones whom you don't get to meet because you probably intimidate them :P

It is a self-perpetuating cycle. So, next time, spare a thought for the quiet nerd in the corner ;)
Yes, please do  :-[

Don't think too hard may be my best advise. There's someone I'm fairly sure is into me ... but is a friend.  I can't see a long time relationship but the temptation is hard to bear.

I have always been of the opinion that long time friends are the best relationship material. You know them for a long time and should know how compatible you guys are. If you can't see the long-term relationship, either look harder or force yourself not to be tempted by going cold turkey :P

OK, so I had college orientation today and yesterday.  Tried to get three girls' numbers.  Delay tactiked, white lied, best hell no I've ever gotten.  Strange.  This doesn't normally happen to me.

Mmh, a different breed from the type of girls you've encountered so far, perhaps?

Possibly.  If I wasn't prepared for the fact that I don't always get what I want I'd be upset.  As is I'm just a bit intrigued.

Always have a backup plan. Chloroform works well for this.

Plenty of guys are damaged goods too so you ladies or gay guys better be careful too.
This sort of clarification goes a long way towards...clarifying...(?!? can't think of a better adjective atm) your post.  FWIW, I agree with the sentiment quoted.  Screwed up people (regardless of gender or sexual preference) are not really the best people to get into relationships with.  Maybe after they sort their shit out, but generally not before.

And if you (generic) have shit you need sort out, every relationship you get into will somehow turn wrong.

I'm probably in danger of being "damaged goods"

Sunic may be more abrasive than sandpaper coated in chainsaws (not that its a bad thing, he really does know what he's talking about), but just posting in this thread without warning and telling him he's an asshole which, if you knew his past experiences on WotC and Paizo is flat-out uncalled for. Never mind the insults (which are clearly 4Chan-level childish). You say people like Sunic are the bane of the internet? Try looking at your own post and telling me you are better than him.

Here's a fun fact: You aren't. By a few leagues.

That's university for you. Girls there already know they're worth something, or they wouldn't be there. Your schoolyard tactics won't work here... :P

Strongly disagree.

At my friend's university one of their fraternity brothers used a particularly uncouth tactic but I believe it illustrates what I'm saying.

At every party they held he simply walked up to every single girl at each party and asked them "Would you like to go back to my room and have sex?"

Every party he got at least one girl.  He was smacked several times as well.  The point here is university girls are just as easy as any other and there are far more than normally available.  Law of large numbers says you will win, eventually, if you keep trying.

I like that. Even though the only Big G I believe in is Ali G and I am not too worried about him peeking over our shoulders.

There are substitutes as you said: Ether, baseball bats and whatnot.

This reminds me of the t shirt that I got for my friend:
