I know, I was asking for the purpose of the whole "Bardic Music" stuff...
Fighter: "I can kill a guy in one turn."
Cleric: "I can kill a guy in half a turn."
Wizard: "I can kill a guy before my turn."
Bard: "I can get three idiots to kill guys for me."

On a strange note, would anyone be put out if we had a post about people or events we can spare a thought for, or if its within their creed, a prayer for? Just a random thought, but ... hells I wouldn't have known about either Archangels daughter or Saeomons niece if I didn't happen to be on these threads.
Sounds fine to me.
probably over on "Off-topic".
might want to put a little disclaimer in the first post.

This is the Min/Max board. We should be able to figure out a way to optimize the POWER OF PRAYER(TM) that doesn't involve "Pazuzu, Pazuzu, Pazuzu".
My final project for my film independent study course. It could do with a watching and critiquing

A very dexterous and charismatic Catgirl.

She's very inspirational.

So she's essentially a Cha synergy divine/bardic gish, yes?

We also have a Incantatrix//Factotum and a Tainted Scholar//Ardent.

(I'm feeling far too mature for this, but... Is Perform (Sexual Act) a valid skill in this game? I wouldn't use it anyway, I just had to ask. :D)

Perform skin-flute?

Yep.

Oh, she's also half-fairy. Don't forget the 100ft fly speed.

Maybe on the perform note below. I was thinking more towards stripping.

Wouldn't it be dex-based?

I'm cool with you doing whatever you want for a perform skill. However, some animal rights activists might shut down the game if everyone in the party are "doing it" with a cat.

So would Ocular Spell or Reach Spell satisfy the fixed range requirement. Or do we not even want to go there?

I don't allow Ocular spell, but reach spell is fine :)

There's also Skydragonknights Ninja/Druid Shadowpouncer.

I want to try an artificer, I've never played one. However, I have no clue what to pair it with. Any ideas?

//fake edit: How do psionic artificer and linked power work together?

How about Artificer//Artificer?  :D The only thing better than one artificer is two artificers!

J/K. It kind of depends on what flavor of artificer you want to focus on. I'd suggest a Bufficer, with a martial adept class on the other side, probably Warblade.
A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.

I have an old character along these lines. Not the most godlike build, but stylish. He'd get a bunch of AoO's from Robilar's Gambit and Karmic Strike defer them for huge bonuses the next round with the Stormguard Warrior feat. Then kill things with a single Iajutsu enhanced Ruby Nightmare Blade strike. Good times.

The nice thing about playing an artificer in this game is that we're starting at half the xp necessary to hit the next level. So you'd be able to start with lots of wonderful toys. Between Magical Artisan, Extraordinary Artisan and the inherent discount for making your own items, you should easily have 300+K in magic items.

Although warblade is the logical thing to pair artificer with, somehow I don't like it. Thinking of going crusader//artificer, probably warforged? Using adamantine body and the warforged artificer alternative class levels. Other feats include extra granted maneuver, wand mastery, persistent spell, extend spell, power attack and maybe the artisan line of feats.

//edit: Mixter, is the persistent unfettered heroism - wand surge combo allowed?

Dictum -
I would dip into one or both of the other martial classes at 11th or 12th level for extra maneuvers. Also, Jolt's character can already persist more than 20 spells a day. So you may want to save the feats for something else.

Jolt -
Are you going to fit in Reach Spell to maintain access to persistent touch range spells?

Depends, if Mixster allows it, I might try to fit it in.

Note: We're 5 players so that's 4 spells/player to persist, some might not find that enough!

Reach spell is fine, ocular is not.

Wand surge + unfettered heroism is fine, buying partially charged wands is not. I've never allowed them, just forgot to write so in the initial write-up.

So my character will be able to persist Polymorph on himself if he uses Reach Spell?

Yes sir, it increases the level of the spell by one and requires one more feat, but I'll allow it.

Reach Spell it is then ...

Edit: Complete Divine states it's actually two spell level slots increase.

Wow, artificers require a lot of bookkeeping :/

Lots of questions:

 • Can I craft my items in general? Can I use the reducers in DMG for requiring a specific class or skill (I think that's 10% each)?
 • Can I make custom magic items (using the DMG table)? Basically I want an item that provides a bonus to my UMD checks and something that lets me cast unfettered heroism once or twice a day.
 • Can I use the experience from my previous craft reserves? Of course, always appropriate to the levels (for example, I can use the first level's experience cache only for crafting scrolls up to 3 caster level).
 • Can I use magical artisan (PGtF), extraordinary artisan, legendary artisan together? If yes, what's the reduction?

That's all for now, I hope :P

Sorry, 2 levels it is, I'm remembering stuff wrongly.

Yes, the others in your party wont be able to use those items though, unless they succeed on an UMD check

You can make custom magic items, but I want to say yay or nay on a case by case basis, I don't want continious true strike rings, or lesser vigor amulets, which are ridicolously cheap yet are much better than almost anything else out there. It is a yes, but be reasonable with the items.

Sure, go ahead with that, it makes sense your character has crafted to get to level 12

Yes you can.
0.75 * 0.75 is 0.565, so you would pay 56.5% in the respective area.

Very nice.

A class specific item by the DMG is a 30% reduction, but it's too much, I'll keep it at 10%. Btw, base price is the market price, right? I mean reducing the gp cost doesn't reduce the XP cost which is the 1/25th of the market price.
About custom magic items, I only want those I mentioned, nothing more (well, assuming that you don't count a +6 strength enchantment belt of battle as a custom magic item).

Yes that is fine.

It's fine by me, but I don't know anything about tome of magic, so you'll have to tell me what you can do with it :).

And LA Buy-off is perfectly fine.

The real question is what can't I do with it :D

I'll get a build up pretty quickly, then...
